Chicken Soup for the Soul: Power Moms Book Review

chicken soup for the soupI recently received a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Power Moms to review and it came at just the right time.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Power Moms is filled with 101 stories from Stay At Home Moms as well as Work From Home Moms. I’ve been struggling with my decision on being a Stay At Home Mom for a while now. You can read my latest entry, Did I Make the Right Choice, that I submitted on MomDot. I want so badly to feel good about my decision but I can’t help but wonder what I’m missing. Reading the stories of these women has helped me in accepting the decision I made and although I might not love it, it’s okay to feel this way.

Wendy Walker, author of Four Wives and The Queen of Suburbia, has become the go-to media expert on women leaving the workforce to raise their families and run their homes. This book contains 101 great stories from mothers who have made the choice to stay home, or work from home, while raising their families and becoming active members of their communities. Stories from grateful husbands and children are also a fun read. These multi-tasking, high-performing women have become today’s Power Moms. Every stay-at-home and work-from-home mom will view this book as having been written just for her. Perfect for book groups, it will also contain a reader guide.

This book contains stories from some pretty influential women like Liz Lange, Lynne Spears and Mary Himes. There were times when I needed to be doing other things, but couldn’t pull myself away from reading these stories from MOM’S. Although we all don’t have the same career or have the same drive, we are all mom’s. That is by far the most important job that we will have.

This is a must have book for any mom. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Check out this YouTube clip of the Power Mom’s video.
