My children are already getting their Christmas lists ready and I’m still completely frazzled that its already that time again. In celebration of the Christmas season we were sent Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure on DVD to review.
Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure was released on DVD on November 3, 2009. When we received our complimentary copy in the mail, my daughter was the most excited. She has watched Dora since she was just a tiny tot and she just loves Dora and Boots. She has the huge Dora castle, all the Dora dolls, Dora blankets, Dora pillows, pretty much everything Dora!
In the premiere episode, as always, Swiper tries to swipe the Christmas tree star and because you know what happens to naughty boys and girls, he winds up on Santa’s naughty list. Dora comes to Swiper’s aid and appeals to Santa. Santa agrees that if Swiper can learn the true spirit of Christmas that he will be taken off of the naughty list.
In true Dora style, she invites you in to become a part of her world as she discovers the past, present and future of Christmas.
As a mommy, I really like that Dora invites her audience to be a part of the show and participate in her adventures. Each episode consists of a problem or puzzle and Dora and the audience must make their way through in order to figure it out. Since Dora is bilingual she uses some spanish words throughout each episode and Taylor has learned a few spanish words from watching Dora.
Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure has a run time of 52 minutes and contains some really awesome bonus features such as a “Jingle Bells” music video and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” music video.
