With the holidays approaching I’m sure many of us will be purchasing cards for the people who are special to us.  Hallmark has a line of recordable cards that allow you to record your own message in your own voice.  I know sometimes when I’m looking for a card I can’t find one that says exactly how I feel and the recordable cards would give me the opportunity to say exactly how I feel.

We received two recordable cards to review and I thought a video review would be perfect.  I was going to let my children record their own messages but they got camera shy.  So, your just stuck with me.

One of my favorite memories would be that of my brothes, sisters and I laying down under the tree on Christmas Eve. All the house lights would be off…only the tree lights. It was really a magical time, the twinking of lights and waiting for Santa to come.

I remember looking out the window when I was probably 7 or 8 and seeing two Santas walking up our walkway. My siblings and I yelled down to them and they promptly asked how many kids lived here. In the morning we found a candy cane at the door for each of us.

My favorite Christmas memory was when I was in college and my boyfriend and I were so poor we really couldn’t exchange gifts. I woke up and didn’t expect anything. I went downstairs and under the tree was the most adorable puppy. She was my best buddy throughout college and I loved her so much.

My favorite memory is when my twin sister and I were kids. We were walking through Sears with Mom & Dad after seeing Santa. We saw this huge Mickey Mouse castle and begged our parents to get it. They said no so we walked out of the store huffing and puffing. Christmas morning, guess what we saw under our tree? They had already gotten it before we even saw it!

My favorite Christmas memory is walking into the living room where the tree was when I was about 12 years old and seeing my dachshund under the tree in the middle of all of the presents looking for anything that smelled edible. And she was standing on an LP that was sort of bowed under her weight.

One of my favorite Christmas memories is my senior year when my parents made certain I was out in the car before everyone else (we were going to my grandparents’ house for Christmas Eve). My brother and father finally came out and we left. Two days later when we came home, under the tree was a beautiful cedar chest. I still have it, more than 50 years later, and I still enjoy thinking of the thought my family put into it.

My favorite Christmas memory is several years ago when my mother was nearing the end of her life. A family that we knew told us they were going to take care of meals for us on Christmas day. They showed up in the morning with a delicious homemade breakfast. They came back in the afternoon with turkey and all the fixin’s and then came back a little later and cleaned everything up. It let us spend that time with family instead of fussing about meals. It meant so much!

My favorite christmas memory that comes to mind right now is that I had begged and begged for an etchasketch. My Gram didn’t let me know that she had gotten me one, but she wrapped it up so I could feel the knobs through the paper. I figured it out, jumped around like a spaz, and she laughed. That Gramma was a huge part of Xmas for us kids. I miss her a lot.

The best Christmas Was when I still believed in the magic of Santa–”he” would bring us Power Ranger toys and the new Super Nintendo game!(Donkey Kong 2) and me and my brother rushed to play it on our little TV afterwards!

My favorite memory is of Christmas Eve, at church, in the dark, while just ONE candle was lit, and that touched the candle of the first one in the pew, and THAT person passed it on down the line. And soon the church was all lit up. We were singing “Silent Night” while this was going on, and on the last verse we all raised our candles up. It was a moving and beautiful site.

My favorite was the Christmas I was 10…My little sister was a Christmas Eve baby so my mom was in the hospital…My dad had myself plus an 8 and 5 year old at home….We got up at 5am and went and woke my dad up..We went and just looked at what “Santa” had brought then went and got in bed with him and went back to sleep….He tells us about this each Christmas and says he had only been in bed about 15 minutes after putting stuff together…..

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas. My favorite Christmas memory is watching my mom and dad look at each other with so much love. And them being so excited thinking they were sneaking and wrapping gifts for me. It was always funny to watch my dad try (LOL) to put together a bike, or something that required putting together. Mom laughing and then him. I lost him suddenly 3 yrs ago. Just ain’t the same anymore. Then there’s my 1st child, my 14 yo daughter, I put the special gift in her bed with her Christmas eve. She always thought it was Santa!!! It was a tradition. Shhh, I still do it!

A favorite Christmas memory of mine is when my grandmother babysat my brother and I so my parents could go Christmas shopping. We spent the night. When it got dark, grandma lit her angel chime candles and turned out the lights. We listened to her old Christmas records and watched the candlelight reflected on the ceiling. I will never forget it.

My favorite Christmas memory was when I flew in and surprised my parents for Christmas. They had no clue that I was coming in town. My sister picked me up at the airport and dressed me up like a package. I had a huge bow on my head and ribbons all over my body. She went in the house first and then I just walked in. My mother just stared at me in total shock and it took her a minute to realize that it was really me standing in front of her. I loved surprising my parents that way. my favorite memory is just walking down the stairs into the living room with all the christmas lights lit early x-mas morning. I just remember seeing the mountain of presents that one particular year. I can just vision it so well, i’ll never forget that image.

When my brother in law dressed up like Santa and had an old suit on from the 50’s. He looked real weird but the kids thought it was funny.

I was so young, but I remember! I got one of those cardboard dome houses from santa. I put it together and just sat in there for hours and hours.

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was younger and we would have a HUGE family gathering and exchange presents with everyone else. It was a lot of fun.
