Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving
December 31, 2009 | Filed Under General | 2 Comments

I know some of you will be going out tonight to celebrate the coming of a new year. I know some of you will drink. Please. Please. Please. Don’t drive. Even if you’ve only had one drink. Don’t drive. You are putting yourself and other innocent people in harms way. Please watch the video below of Emily’s story.
New Year Resolutions and Goals for 2010
December 31, 2009 | Filed Under General | 4 Comments

I’m not usually one for New Year Resolutions because I can never seem to stand to them. This year however, I’m asking for your help at holding me accountable. There are many things that I want to accomplish in 2010 and hopefully by writing them down I will be able to accomplish all my goals.
My personal 2010 New Year Resolutions and goals are:
- I want to spend more quality time with my husband and children. With work and household chores, I sometimes put those activities as a priority. Obviously, that shouldn’t be. In 2010, I hope to change that!
- I want to pay down debt. We don’t have much, but I want it gone. In 2010, I hope to be free of any and all credit card debt!
- I want to be happy with ME! I think for that to happen I need to first respect myself and realize that time alone isn’t a bad thing. If I’m not happy, more than likely the rest of the family won’t be either. It would also help if I lost a few pounds.
- Learn to cook…better! I cook, just not all that well. I want to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my family’s diet.
- Get back on track with frugal shopping and stockpiling. I haven’t been using coupons like I should and our grocery bill reflects that. With a dwindling stockpile, I hope to do better in 2010!
My goals for my blog in 2010 are:
- I want to increase subscribers. I’ve had a steady increase the last 9 months and I would like for that trend to continue. My goal for 2010 is to hit 1,500 subscribers.
- I want more personal content. Most of my posts over the last 9 months have been promotional with a few personal posts thrown in here and there. I am hoping that I can include more personal content so that you can get to know me and hopefully in turn I can get to know you by your comments here on the blog.
- Get a blog makeover. I plan on changing things here just a little bit. My colors and graphics will remain the same, I just want to change the layout a little.
- Learn how to monetize. Yes, I said it. I want to make money for my family. I want to contribute as much as I can.
What are your New Year Resolutions or goals?
Gerber DHA Purees and Gerber 8 Grains and Yogurt Cereal Giveaway (Closed)
December 30, 2009 | Filed Under Giveaways | 132 Comments

Gerber has made many great changes since my babies were on baby food and cereal. In fact, Gerber recently introduced the 8 Grains & Yogurt Cereal that is made with 8 natural grains and real yogurt. It is appropriate for babies who have reached the sitting stage and who have already
been exposed to simple, single grain cereals like Rice or Oatmeal. It contains no artificial colors or flavors and it is also made with real yogurt that contains live and active cultures.
The 8 natural grains are:
- Wheat
- Barley
- Rye
- Corn
- Sorghum
- Rice
- Oat
- Millet
Oh and did I mention it is an excellent source of iron for healthy mental development. We all want smart kids, right!
Gerber’s DHA & Antioxidant Purees are made with 100% natural fruits and vegetables and come in six varieties, such as Apple Blackberry and Farmer’s Market Vegetable blend to help introduce your baby to new tastes. Gerber Purees with DHA have 18mg of DHA per serving to help support brain and eye development and are an excellent source of either vitamin A (from beta carotene) or vitamin C, protective antioxidants that are essential building blocks of baby’s natural defense system.
Once your baby can eat easily from a spoon and has tried all the single ingredient cereals, it would be a great time to introduce Gerber purees.

Here are a few pictures of Christmas morning.

Looks like daddy would rather use his teeth than scissors.

Taylor begged and begged for a laptop and Santa delivered.

Taylor and Peyton enjoying Christmas morning.

Rylan won’t have to fight with Taylor anymore for DS playing time.

And Peyton isn’t exactly sure what to think. I think he would rather be sleeping.

Save Money on Your Grocery Bill
December 29, 2009 | Filed Under Coupons | Leave a Comment
I have been a faithful coupon-using mommy since September of 2006. I try to save my family as much money as possible so that we will have extras for all the extracurricular activities such as eating out, movies, etc. When I first began my journey to using coupons, A Full Cup helped me tremendously. I realized how to really use coupons and how to make it worth the time and effort involved.
A Full Cup is a website that is dedicated to saving you money. The community behind A Full Cup is full of fun, friendly men and women who are willing and able to share all their knowledge of couponing, refunding and frugal living. There is forum where you can ask and answer questions, a coupon database of all current and expired coupons, store shopping lists and more! I especially love the CVS and Walmart forums.
Another way I save money on groceries is by using printable coupons from Coupons.com. I often find high-value coupons for products we use around the house and I usually find them first on Coupons.com.
You can make coupons work for your family. I used to be one of those that said it wasn’t worth it and that it didn’t save me enough money. If you have any questions at all, please fee free to ask. I may not know all the answers, but I’ll find someone who does.
Besides coupons, how to do your family money? I’d love to know!
