hi!

My daughter received this last year for Christmas. We have only used it once, but I thought I would tell you my opinion.

This is not a product that I would have purchased for my child (she received it from her grandmother). The concept is wonderful, that your daughter can make these beautiful cupcakes, but there are some issues I had.

First, you can ONLY use (according to their directions) the mixes specifically made and sold for that product. You are instructed not to use cake mixes or any other items to prepare your treats. At least with the easy bake oven, you can use your own homemade mixes or store bought mixes. Now whether you can actually use other ingredients (I am suspecting you can) I don't know as I have not tried it.

Second, the set only comes with one cupcake pan. The pan stays with the cupcake from when you put it in the microwave to when you frost it. So, if you have more than one person who wants a cupcake, you have to wait until the other person's cupcake is completely done. The same with the bowl, there is only one bowl to mix ingredients. So you have to mix the batter first, wash everything, mix the frosting. (Of course, you can use your own bowls at home for mixing, you don't have to use just their bowl).

Third, the cleaning between cupcakes goes for all the ingredients. If one person chooses a vanilla frosting and one chooses chocolate, you have to take the arm (or where the frosting comes out, I don't know what else to call it) off and clean it all out with a bottle brush, let it dry, and then fill it with the next frosting mixture.

The concept is wonderful and my girls did enjoy making their cupcakes, and even though they did not look at all like the cupcakes on the package they did enjoy eating them, it just would have been nice if the product had come with two cupcake pans, two frosting arms, and two mixing bowls, so you can do more than one cupcake at a time.

Whew, I wrote you a book. Sorry if it is too long!
