I know I’ve been writing a lot about food lately but we all have to eat so I figure why not, right? And who doesn’t like pizza? I don’t know anyone, oh, I take that back. I do know one little gal that doesn’t like pizza but she doesn’t like much of anything so she doesn’t count. :) We were recently given the opportunity to try 2 new products from Red Baron including the Red Baron By the Slice and Red Baron Pan Pizza.
So, what do you do when you’re the only one home and you want a slice of pizza? You no longer have to make a whole pizza just because you have a craving. The new Red Baron By the Slice is a great tasting single slice of pizza that can be made right in your microwave. Each box comes with 2 individually wrapped pizzas and you can buy it in 4 different varieties including Supreme, Pepperoni, Meat Trio and Four Cheese. The slices of pizza are quite generous in size and makes for a perfect size for lunch.
Our new specially-designed three-sided microwave tray delivers an oven baked taste with a crust that is crispy, not soggy.
My husband and I had different experiences with the crust. We both cooked exactly the way the instructions said, but his crust was almost crispy, but mine not so much. I wouldn’t say it was soggy either though. I actually don’t like a crispy crust so it worked out well for me. But, if you like a crispy crust, I’m not sure you’ll get it with this.
Aside from the crust issue I was also a little disappointed in the amount of pepperoni that was on the pizza. When compared to the box and the commercials I’ve seen on TV, there is a vast difference. Needless to say, I would have liked a little more pepperoni on my pizza.
If you like a thick crust pizza, this is the pizza for you. Although the crust is thick in appearance, it is light and airy with a golden crisp outside. I absolutely love this pizza! It is a little greasy but I haven’t met a good pizza that isn’t. This is the first pizza that I’ve had at home that has that pizzeria style crust. I will definitely be purchasing the Red Baron Pan Pizza again very soon!
