It’s My Birthday and I’ll Cry if I Want to!

Yep, it’s my birthday and I can’t be happy about it.  You’d figure by now that I’d be able to get over how other people perceive me or what they think about me, but quite honestly I don’t like for someone not to like me.  I’m feeling rather depressed because I feel unliked, unloved, unappreciated, taken advantage of… No matter how hard I try, no matter what I do it never is good enough.  I’m really feeling like I should just throw in the towel and just forget about everything.

Happy birthday, and sorry you’re feeling down. :( I’ve had that same feeling many times, and it sucks. Sorry you’re having it on this day of all days. I hope you can take your focus off the people who are being mean and put it onto the people who do care and love you for who you are. Hugs and best wishes.

I know how you feel. But, you are loved by God. I really appreciate all the work you do on your blog. I agree with Penny and Tammy in everything that they said. As to those that are making you feel unappreciated, just put them in God’s hands and hope that someday they come to their senses.

First of all Happy Birthday! It is my sister’s birthday today, too. I think birthdays can be rough and it is rare to have a great one. Many times it is just a let down.
I am sorry things are going that way for you. I have been feeling down also because our business is dead and I don’t know what is going to happen. Life can be rough and it is difficult, I know. I know I feel like a failure, too.
One thing I read on your husband’s blog was what he said about you “I am married to a human female named Crystal. One of the most amazing women that the species has ever produced. She is very giving, thoughtful, somewhat patient (she tends to wait on me alot for a number of reasons and scenarios and she can only be so patient), loving, and amazing mother, and my best friend.” So I think you are loved and appreciated by your husband and your children. Just some days are rough.
Hang in there. I am sure you are doing a great job. And do have a great day!

Happy Birthday! I definitely love all that you do here and I’m sorry that you’re feeling bogged down. Sounds like you need a little dose of Kathy Bates in Fried Green Tomatoes–I’m older and I have more insurance–post car bashing.

Happy Birthday. Wow, you’re feeling a lot of bummer feelings. I hope you realize that the people who come to your blog appreciate your hard work. I may not know you on a personal face to face level as just a reader of your blog, but I do care about you. I want only the best for you, and I’m sure others do too. I don’t know how to tell you to overcome all of your feelings, somehow each of us has to find that in ourselves. Yet, I can pray for you and I will. I’ll pray things in your life will improve and happiness will abound again. Please just hang in there and focus on the things that can and do bring you happiness.

Just turned 50 a couple weeks ago…the number doesnt mean anything to me, really. It is as you said…that inner thing just hounds you and wants you to be more, better…and to be loved, not “WRONG” or wronged. It really is a self perception thing. we are always harder on ourselves than what others can be. I am right there with ya! but you sound like an amazing mom, employee, wife…housekeeper. But even amazing doesnt mean perfect. You are good enough and never need the applause and complete love or redemption of others. Not even your husband and kids…it has to come inside you first. Enjoy those birthdays, Crystal. I cant believe where the last 20 years have gone!
