Define Your Eyes with Revlon CustomEyes + Giveaway (Closed)

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a bit challenged in the beauty department.  I remember the days back in high school where I didn’t even think about leaving the house without makeup.  Since having children, it’s like I no longer have time to even think about putting on makeup. I guess over the years I’ve kinda lost my touch, but thanks to the H-E-B Beauty Blogger Program, I’m beginning to see how much I actually missed feeling beautiful.

As a H-E-B Beauty Blogger, I am sent different products each month to use and test out and then let you know my experiences with the products.  This month I received Revlon CustomEyes Shadow and Liner as well as Revlon CustomEyes Mascara.  When I opened the package, I was quite intimidated by the Revlon CustomEyes Shadow and Liner.  Remember, it’s been years since I’ve spent much time with shadows and to see this package with 5 different shades almost put me into cardiac arrest.  That’s a slight exaggeration, but you get my point, right?

My son just celebrated his 5th birthday and we took him out to celebrate and I thought it was the perfect time to try out my new goodies.  I took pictures each step of the way and I’m going to show you my journey from beginning to end.

The Revlon CustomEyes Shadow and Liner is pretty self-explanatory with the diagram on the back of the case.  I followed each step and took a picture to show my progress.  You get to see the real me, all natural.

Once I got done with the shadow, it was time for mascara.  The Revlon CustomEyes Mascara is different from any mascara I’ve used before.  It features a twist top wand that allows you to quickly change between the two different settings.  Setting 1 aligns the bristles for long and dramatic lashes. Setting 2 staggers the bristles for length and definition.  In the photos I used the mascara on setting 1, but after using it several times I’ve found that I like setting 2 much better.  Here is the finished product.

I’ve had fun using and experimenting with the new Revlon CustomEyes products.  The shadow glides on easily and seems to stay on quite nicely.  I don’t like that there are 5 colors, but the applicator provided only has 4 different sides.  I don’t like using the same side for 2 different colors, so it would be nice to have an extra applicator included.  I like that the mascara comes in 3 regular shades and 2 waterproof shades.  I’ve always had a problem with mascara doing it’s job correctly because my eyelashes are short and stubby, and neither setting gave me the dramatic look that I had hoped for.

You can purchase Revlon CustomEyes Shadow and Liner and Revlon CustomEyes Mascara at your local H-E-B Beauty Department.  Don’t forget to print this $3 Revlon coupon to use on your purchase.

Use dry eyeshadow with a brush for sheer color, with a sponge to intensify the color and with a wet brush for a deeper/brighter color.

My tip is to always use the applicator for a smooth application. I have so many friends who use their fingers or a q-tip, or something other than the applicator.

My tip for apply eye makeup is to use a q-tip instead of the sponge or brush & throw it away afterward to reduce germs.

I have my makeup regimen down to 5 minutes. I’m a strawberry blonde, so my eyelashes are blonde and non-existent until the eye makeup goes on. I first use the eyelash curler to curl the lashes, then use 2 coats of black mascara. I then apply (lightly) to upper and lower outer edges of lids my chocolate brown eyeliner. Magic!..I now have great big eyes…thanks to my eye makeup!

Always have a very light shade of shadow or a white eye pencil for the inner corner of your eyes. It brightens your whole face!
