During my recent trip to Florida, I had the opportunity to stay in a Global Resort Homes property in the Windsor Hills Community. This is my second time staying in a resort home, although I’ve stayed in two separate houses, and each time I found it to be an enjoyable experience.
I plan on going back to Orlando in October, this time with my husband and possibly even my children depending on their school schedule, but regardless of whose coming with me, we are staying in a Global Resort Homes property. I now look at vacationing in a whole different way and here’s why.
Multiple Bedrooms – Depending on your needs, Global Resort Homes offers a variety of housing options including two-bedroom condos to a six-bedroom home. I find this to be extremely helpful when traveling with small children. I can’t tell you how many times my husband and I have had to lay in a pitch black room, afraid to even go to the bathroom, for fear of waking one or more of the children. With multiple bedrooms, everyone will have the space and privacy they need.
Laundry Conveniences – Each property is equipped with a washer and dryer. I find this to be incredibly helpful if you are traveling for an extended period of time and don’t want to bring your whole closet with you. Having the convenience of being able to wash and dry your garments while on vacation and then being able to wash and dry garments so you don’t have to when you get home, well, that’s a convenience I just can’t put a price tag on.
Location, Location, Location – Most properties are fairly close to Disney World. The Windsor Hills Community, is actually only 1.5 miles from the park. The community also offers a huge lagoon-style pool complete with water slide and hot tub, a variety of recreation and activities for all ages including children’s playground, state-of-the-art fitness center, sand volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, 40-seat movie theater, video arcade and billiards. The resort also offers a shuttle bus service to Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal Studios for a fee.
Gated Private Pool – Most properties offer either a small dip pool or small swimming pool with spa. Since I’m shy and hate to be in a bathing suit around others, I find the private pool to be a luxury and the only way I’m getting in a pool on vacation. In the two homes I’ve stayed in, the pools have been heated which was an added bonus.
Easy on the Checkbook – Depending on what property you stay in, rates start as low as $122 per night for a 2 bedroom condo on up to $292 per night for a 3,500 square foot home. I know that I’ve easily spent $122 on a one-room, 400 square feet or less hotel room. The convenience of staying in a Global Resort Home is priceless and it doesn’t hurt that you pay normal hotel rates, or in some cases, you will spend less than you would on a hotel.
