Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups Movie Review

Are you ready for some jolly good fun complete with adorable talking pups, flying reindeer, colorful elves, and Mrs. Claus? Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups is now available on Blu-ray and DVD just in time for the holiday season.

santa paws 2 movie review

This frolicking adventure tells the story of the birth of the Santa Pups (Noble, Jingle, Charity, and Hope) and how their quest to grow up and help spread Christmas cheer goes terribly, horribly wrong. When the Christmas spirit starts to weaken in the town of Pineville, Mrs. Claus takes off on a mission to find a new ambassador to help keep it alive and flourishing.

The Santa Pups stow away in the sleigh unknown to Mrs. Claus, with a “borrowed” magic crystal. The eager pups think earning their own crystals will be easy. The pups start secretly granting the wishes of the local children, until they make a mistake that causes a “Christmas Flu” to spread like wildfire, threatening not only Christmas in Pineville, but around the world.

santa paws 2 movie review

Cheryl Ladd is wonderful as Mrs. Claus. It was a treat to see Mrs. Claus in a leading role for a change and she reminded me of a modern day Mary Poppins. The supporting cast is full of great surprises, such as Kaitlyn Maher who plays little Sarah Reynolds, a charming little girl whose angelic singing and pure love of Christmas helps save the day, along with the Santa Pups and some other furry friends.

This movie is great for all ages. Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups is part musical, part fantasy and 100% enchanting. My boys are ages 7 and 9 and I wasn’t sure how they would react (we never saw the first Santa Paws movie), but they adored it and have already watched it several times. I know we will enjoy having it in our holiday collection for years to come.
