Jamie is receiving an all expense paid trip to the Disney Planes premiere, as well as The Little Mermaid event, however all opinions are her own.
Imagine my excitement, last week, when I opened my email to find this amazing opportunity waiting for me. Our fearless Simply Being Mommy leader, Crystal, asked if I would be interested in representing her in Los Angeles for the Disney Planes premiere and The Little Mermaid event, scheduled for August 4th through the 6th. Ask me how long I thought about that one? Better yet, don’t, because I didn’t even think about it! I jumped at the opportunity!
After getting my childcare lined up and knowing my babies would be taken care of while I was gone, I actually got to soak in the itinerary for our trip and let my excitement build! Oh my word, there is so much waiting for us that I can. not. wait!
Disney Planes Premiere
Planes is an all-new movie inspired by the world of “Cars,” only this one takes place in the sky. Planes, coming to theaters on August 9th, tells the story of a cropduster, named Dusty, who finds himself with the desire to race across the skies, only he’s never flown about 1,000 feet. He’s the star of an underdog story that shows him digging deep to do more than he was made for.
Since my boys have watched Cars more times than I could possibly count, I think this movie will also be a staple in our house! And I couldn’t think of anything better I’d love for my boys to soak in to than an animated movie where the key theme is becoming more than you’re made for. We all need to do a little more of that!
Check out a little peek at the movie from this trailer:
I’m so excited to have the opportunity to attend the red carpet premiere of Planes at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles a week from today!
The Little Mermaid Event
Not only will we be celebrating the release of Planes, but we’ll also be learning all about The Little Mermaid, including seeing bonus material for the Blu-ray Combo Pack and HD Digital which will be released on October 1st. They’re even giving us a tour of The Animation Research Library for a look at The Little Mermaid archived materials. I just can’t wait to see it all!
I think my very favorite part of this event includes all of the Q&A time we get with the brains (and voice) behind The Little Mermaid. 24 other bloggers and myself will have the opportunity to pose questions to Jodie Benson, the voice of Ariel. I know! I can’t believe it either!! We’ll also have the chance to speak with writers and directors Ron Clements and John Musker.
Frozen Preview and Super Buddies Meet & Greet
To wrap up our trip, we’ll have the opportunity to see 20 minutes of the upcoming theatrical release of Frozen, which comes out November 27th, and we’ll also get to have a Q&A session with the filmmakers.
And for an animal lover like myself, I’m definitely looking forward to meeting some of the stars of Super Buddies, which is the newest film in the Buddies franchise.
As you can see, I have so much to look forward to and just thinking about it all makes my head spin with excitement. Make sure to follow our adventures by following #DisneyPlanesPremiere and #LittleMermaidEvent hashtags on Twitter. And of course, I’ll be tweeting from @SimplyBeingMom. Be sure to follow along because I’ll be sharing pictures galore!
I better channel some of this excitement in to planning my wardrobe. Off to explore my closet options!
