Thanks to Nestlé Pure Life Purified Water for sponsoring today’s discussion.
Remember when we shouldn’t eat eggs because they were too high in cholesterol? And now we are supposed to eat them because they are full of protein. It’s hard to keep all the medical food science straight! But, one thing that is universally accepted is water.
Water is critical for healthy living. It obviously keeps us hydrated, but by drinking water instead of coffee, tea, or soda we avoid unnecessary calories. Another benefit? Looking young longer! I can’t promise it’ll keep wrinkles at bay, but dehydrated skin looks wrinkly and isn’t doing us any favors. The list of benefits goes on and on, so why don’t I drink all the water I know I need to?
My own water consumption varies day to day. I know it’s so much better for me than coffee and sugary drinks, but some days I can come up with amazing excuses for alternative beverages. I’ve realized that today, I had less than 20 ounces. That’s less than a third of my daily goal. Ugh!
So I’m recommitting myself. I’m pledging to get back into my good habits and drink more water. Since I control the kitchen and what goes in and out of it, I’m bringing my family with me.
If you want to take the pledge to drink more water also, you can join the Nestlé Hydration Movement. To do so, you’ll need to head on over to the Nestlé Facebook page. In addition to improving your health, you can enter to win a trip for 4 to Universal Studios Hollywood or Universal Orlando Resort, various other prizes, or a downloadable coupon to fuel healthy drinking habits!
The greatest rewards for drinking water are my improved health and the uplifting feeling of knowing I’m doing something great for myself. It isn’t often you get the added bonus of a chance to win fun prizes! So fill up your cup and start chugging your H20!
Are you going to take the pledge to stay hydrated for better health?
