Today is the official first day of summer break here in our area.

How is it that my daughter’s whole 2nd grade year went by so fast?  A whole nine months that just flew by!

Taylor had a wonderful year and I couldn’t be any more proud of my sweet little girl.  She finished second grade with an award in Spelling, Math, Reading, Outstanding Performance and my favorite — “A” Honor Roll!

She is one amazing little girl and I’m so incredibly proud to be her mommy!

As Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, I thought it would only be timely to post a picture of my first born.  I still remember the day I became a mommy, kinda like it was yesterday.

Imagine my surprise when I found out my daughter made it into the newspaper for “A” Honor Roll.  Not surprised that she made straight A’s, I mean, she is my child, but surprised her name was in the paper.  When she found out she was just as thrilled as I was and I think it’s given her more motivation to keep up the good grades!

I’m so proud of you Miss Taylor!  Keep up the good work.

I can’t believe my little baby is seven years old…I love her more today, then the day I first held her in my arms.

It looks like Taylor wanted to make quite an impression on her first day of school.  I’m not sure how she did on the playground, but whatever she did…I bet she looked stunning!

Today as I was driving to work I was listening to my children talk in the back seat.  Taylor has learned some spanish words from watching Dora and she was teaching them to one of her brothers.  Here is how the conversation went.

Taylor: I can say red in spanish Rylan.  When you say red in spanish, you say rojo.

Rylan: {just looks at her}

Taylor: And if you want to say okay in spanish, you say o-keh.

At this point, I’m totally cracking up and trying not to let them see me because I wanted to see what other spanish words she knew. Unfortunately I didn’t do a very good job so those are the only two Rylan was taught today.  I’ll be sure to let y’all know if she gives any other spanish lessons.

It’s so hard to believe that my little girl just turned seven years old.  As much as I don’t want to believe it, there is really nothing I can do about it.  In honor of Taylor’s birthday, she received one of Just Jen’s adorable birthday t-shirts customized just the way she wanted it.  Taylor loves sparkles, tiaras and pink, so this shirt totally made her day.

I’m really impressed with the quality and workmanship of Taylor’s Just Jen shirt. The crystals all look like they are placed perfectly on the shirt. But what I think is truly unique with Just Jen is you can customize the shirt how you want it. From the style of the shirt, to the color of the shirt, to the customization on the front, to the color of the crystals, it’s all up to you and the way you want it.

The shirt itself is 100% cotton and made in the USA. I do think the sizes run somewhat on the smaller side because Taylor usually wears a size 7 in other brands but the size 8 she received from Just Jen fits perfectly. I would definitely purchase a size bigger than normal just to be safe. The shirt is nice and soft for delicate, young skin! The only downside is you do have to wash with special care because of the crystals. I would suggest to wash inside out on a delicate cycle and then lay flat to dry.

This is a picture from the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Disney a couple of weeks ago! Taylor loved meeting Minnie Mouse! I’m sure I’ll be posting more Disney pictures for Wordless Wednesday because I have tons to share.

I’m not sure who invented the Blu-Ray and why they decided to spell it the way they did but my first grade daughter has noticed the incorrect spelling.

We bought a new Sony Blu-Ray Player on Black Friday so we have the box sitting in our livingroom. My daughter is learning to read so she reads everything. Along with reading she is learning how to spell. So after she reads a word, she spells it. I think this helps her to memorize it.

As she was spelling Blu-Ray she looks at me with this weird face and says, “A child must of written this. Blue is spelled B-L-U-E.” As you can imagine, I laughed hysterically. This kid is always saying some of the funniest things.
