Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice Review

As a mommy, I often feel guilty about the foods that I give my children to eat. I try to feed them well balanced meals but there are times when I just give them whatever because I’m tired or simply because lack of time. Thanks to Mom Central, I was recently sent Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice for review and also some to share with friends and family.

We were having chicken on the grill so I decided that we would give the rice a try. We don’t eat white rice too often so I was hopeful that the children would be intrigued.  I try hard to make sure most of our rice and pasta is a whole grain variety but most of the time the children say that it tastes weird or it’s too dry and most of the time I have to agree with them.  There are very few whole grain varieties that I prefer over the white variety.

I’m happy to report that the whole pot of rice was gone at the end of dinner. All of the children wanted seconds which was a huge surprise. My husband made it with just a little dab of butter and some seasoned salt and it was a hit with everyone. It definitely tasted like rice white and wasn’t dry like some of the other whole grain rice that I have tried before.
