Being Keto isn’t hard when you get to enjoy these delicious Keto Shrimp Tostadas with Buffalo Aioli. Didn’t think you could eat tostadas on Keto? You can!
With almost a year of the Keto lifestyle in the books for the hubby and I, there are definitely some foods I miss. Being from Texas, Tex-Mex is like my favorite food ever. On Keto though, it’s a big no-no.
But it doesn’t have to be, y’all.
Keto Tostadas
Everybody does Keto differently. My thought is that if it’s working for you, keep doing it. If it’s not, change things up.
If you’re on any type of Keto boards you know that there are some people, like me, who allow some room for what strict followers call “cheating”. In other words, I give myself some freedom to enjoy things with sugar substitutes, have small amounts of flour, etc.
My husband and I have lost about 100 pounds over the past year, so needless to say, I’m okay with cheating.
I call this a Keto Tostada recipe because it fits into how my husband and I do Keto. With about 8 net carbs per two tostadas, I feel comfortable calling these Keto.
Buffalo Aioli Sauce
There are many different parts of this Keto Tostada recipe that literately make my mouth water. The Buffalo Aioli sauce is one of them. It’s so creamy and delicious. I’m pretty sure that’s from the amazing taste and texture of the mayonnaise.
This Buffalo Aioli sauce is made with Blue Plate Mayonnaise, hot sauce, and chives. It’s very simple and quick to put together and the flavor is absolutely divine.
It pairs perfectly with all the other different flavors in this recipe.
I use Blue Plate Mayonnaise because it’s made with just a few simple ingredients and it’s been Voted #1 Mayonnaise by Epicurious. Because it’s made with real ingredients, the result is a flavorful mayonnaise with an incredibly creamy texture. Click here to Find the product near you.
The recipe will make a big batch of Buffalo Aioli sauce. Store any leftovers in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. You could use it as a dipping sauce for these Bacon Wrapped Brussels Sprouts or these Baked Avocado Fries (not Keto).
Mashed Avocado
I love avocado and can pretty much eat it every day. Since it’s full of healthy fats, it’s perfect for Keto.
Mashing avocado, lime juice, onion powder, and garlic salt together makes a delightful topping for the tostada. We could stop there and have a version of avocado toast. But, we’re not. Because it gets so much better.
When topping the tostadas with the mashed avocado, try to use it all. If there are leftovers, they won’t last long.
Keto Shrimp Tostadas
There are some Keto recipes that I make at home and my kids absolutely know it’s a Keto recipe. But then there are recipes like these Keto Shrimp Tostadas, and they have no clue they’re eating a low-carb recipe.
When a Keto recipe gets the kids’ approval, I know I’ve got a winner. This Keto Shrimp Tostada recipe is definitely a winning recipe.
