Got a dirty oven? Keep on reading to find out how to clean your dirty oven.
As a stay at home mom with 3 kids, 4 and under, in my care all day long, I do a lot of cleaning up after little people. I honestly feel like I’m cleaning all day long, but it’s mostly just cleaning up their messes. Because my time is so limited when it comes to cleaning, I like to take shortcuts wherever I can.
My husband and I do quite a bit of deep cleaning together on the weekends, but there are priorities in our cleaning schedule. Kitchen counters and floors, as well as bathrooms and all of the living areas are high on the cleaning priority list. The oven falls way down on that list. It has a door that can be closed and the mess is never seen, so we honestly don’t think about it until we’re opening it up to prepare a meal.
We’ve lived in the same house for almost three years and our oven has never been cleaned. I’ve just never had any desire to make it shine, or put the elbow grease in to scrub the cemented pieces of charred food. It’s taken a beating and I have the pictures to prove it.
Let me give you a little closer look so you can really see what I’m talking about.
When I learned of Easy-Off Oven Cleaner, I’ll admit that I was skeptical. I was expecting LOTS of scrubbing and several applications before I could see a hint of the original oven surface. I also thought it would have to be done while the kids were out of the house, due to the strong fumes. But because this variety of Easy-Off is fume free, I was able to work it into my busy schedule.
I sprayed the cleaner in my oven according to the instructions and shut the oven door for the night. It can clean in as little as five minutes, but I knew my oven fell in to the “tougher stains” category. The next morning, I came back with wet and warm sponges ready to tackle this chore.
After one swipe with my sponge, I was amazed. I couldn’t believe how easily the cemented food and residue was coming off of the oven. Granted, I did have to rinse and repeat with my sponge MANY times, but that’s just because my oven was filthy!!
I still can’t believe the way my oven looks after giving it a makeover. Okay, it’s not a makeover, but I feel like I have a brand new oven. It’s so pretty!
And because I always love seeing a before and after picture, check out the difference!
We all know that with the holidays in our near future, ovens all over are about to be put in to overdrive. If you want a clean oven, EASY-OFF® Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner is the answer!
You can find EASY-OFF® at your local Walmart. Give it a try and enjoy the fresh, lemon scent it leaves with your oven! You can also use this for daily spot cleaning. Now that my oven is all shined up, I think I’ll be doing that to maintain its beauty!
Do you keep a clean oven or does yours look like my before photo?

I use an oven liner in my ovens. It really helps with spillovers to make it easy to clean (you just pull the liner out and rinse it off and then put it back!) – however that doesn’t help with the sides or racks or the door…LOL.. I do use Easy Off for those parts.
