For those of us in the southern states, we are finally enjoying the warm weather we’ve been begging for for weeks. There has been much bike riding, playing outside and basking in the suns warm rays, but the requests for cold, frozen treats have already begun. The perfect reason to make a batch of Homemade Strawberry Chocolate Ice Pops.
I can eat a whole tub of ice cream, just like the next guy, but I’m trying to teach my children better eating habits than my own. {That just means I eat the tub of ice cream after they’re in bed.} But seriously, all joking aside, I like giving my children something homemade over store-bought any day.
With very few ingredients, you can have these whipped up pretty quickly, but you’ll need to allow for ample freezing time. The strawberry mixture will need to freeze for about an hour before adding in the addition of the chocolate mixture.

This is just one variation, but the possibilities are endless. Summer hasn’t even arrived yet and I’m already thinking of other fun and tasty combinations.
What I love about these homemade ice pops is that they aren’t overly sweet and won’t send my children into an immediate sugar high. I actually feel really good about serving them to my children.
And I even sneaked one while the littles were away at school. Although the strawberry layer was delicious, the chocolate layer was my favorite part.
MilkSplash is a convenient and easy way to flavor milk. It is available in five flavors: Coco Loco, Sir Strawberry Swirl, Orange Cream Dream, Cookies ‘N Cream, and Jammin’ Banana. You can find MilkSplash at Target and will soon be available at Walmart.
I’ll be making more homemade ice pops as we get closer to summer, so tell me what combos you’d like to see below!

I have not yet heard of that product – the Cookies n’ Cream would be a hit around here that’s for sure. I’m all about the homemade ice pops too. They just taste better and seem to have more “substance” to them than store bought ones.

These look better than store bought Popsicles any day of the week. (What are you using to make them? Are they sold on Amazon?) The MilkSplash sounds like an awesome product to have.

I’m using ice pop molds. I can’t remember where I bought these at, but I do know that Amazon has plenty of options: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000G32H3Y/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000G32H3Y&linkCode=as2&tag=simbeimom-20 (aff link).

We love making our own too. Your recipe sounds great! Our ice pops are not as pretty as yours since we usually use Dixie cups and popscicle sticks.
