Since my first child was born, my husband has always been the story time reader. He’s more dramatic and does great impersonations, so I just let him have at it. One of our newest books that we received for review is Time for Bed, Baby Ted. As the children were getting ready to fall asleep, they all piled on my daughters bed while daddy read them the book.
Time for Bed, Baby Ted is a sweet little bedtime story. The cool thing about this book is it’s all a rhyme. My daughter thought that was really cool since she is learning about rhyming in school.
Synopsis:
It’s time for bed, but where is baby Ted? He’s not baby Ted! Try and guess what he is instead. Whether baby Ted is pretending to be a snapping crocodile, squeaky mouse, or prickly porcupine, in the end he is big boy instead and gets himself ready for bed. With a SNAP and a WRAP and a SQUEAK and a SNEAK, and a little help from his loving father, Ted gets into his pajamas, brushes his teeth, and snuggles under the covers for a good night’s sleep in this charming bedtime story with lovely, winsome illustrations.
This really is a cute little book perfect for bedtime. Your children can interact by trying to figure out which animal Baby Ted is pretending to be. It’s also nice that the book is suitable for a wide age group. My children range in age from 1-6 and the all really liked it.
About the Author, Debra Sartell:
In college I studied child psychology, art and theatre. Which somehow led down a crooked path of booking stand-up comedy shows for 16 years. I love comedy and laughter in my life.
My journal and poetry writing have been consistent threads throughout my life, but it wasn’t until the birth of my son and receiving my first 35mm camera that I began to write about the poetry in the pictures I took. And that led me down a straight path to writing picture books. I have discovered many comical moments in parenting through the camera lens. Time for Bed, Baby Ted grew out of one of those snapshot moments of parenting exhaustion when our son Cole could’ve tucked my husband, Darrell into bed.
Buy:
Time for Bed, Baby Ted is available for purchase for a suggested retail price of $16.95.

We love books in our house. This one sounds cute. Dad does read more exciting to the boys in our house too, but lately he’s decided it’s much more fun to read to them in an English accent and it drives me nuts! 🙂

This sounds cute! We need to get this book for our collection. Lately little man wants to go to bed without reading a book…kind of makes me sad. That was a special time for him and I to read. We will get back to it soon.
