In keeping with my current theme of cheap, easy and quick recipes, I knew a Red Beans and Rice recipe was in order. If you love a good semi-homemade meal, you’ll love this Semi-Homemade Red Beans and Rice Recipe.
This recipe is super simple and is ready in about 20 minutes or so. The kiddos gobbled it up and to me that makes it a huge success!
Semi-Homemade Red Beans and Rice
Ingredients
- 8 – 16 oz. sausage of your choice depending on how meaty you want it
- 15 oz. can of Ranch Style Beans
- 1 package of Knorr Rice Sides
- 1 tsp of Olive Oil
1. Cut your sausage depending on your preference. I cut mine in half moons so it would be easier for my children to eat.
2. Heat olive oil in skillet on medium heat.
3. Prepare the rice according to the package.
4. Prepare the Ranch Style Beans according to the package.
5. While your rice and beans are cooking, put the sausage in the skillet and let cook, stirring frequently to make sure sausage doesn’t burn.
6. Everything should get done at about the same time. You can mix it all together or do layers like I did. I put the rice down first, then the beans and then placed the sausage on top. I then took some of the liquid from the beans and poured it over the top. Simply yummy!
Enjoy!
