While I was in New York for BlogHer, I had the opportunity to talk with Jodi Reinman from the California Strawberry Commission.  As I was talking with her, I started thinking about how cool it would be to work for my favorite fruit.  I can imagine walking into the office and having an endless supply of strawberries within my reach at all times.  To me, that would be the perfect job.  I’m sure I haven’t imagined her job correctly, but right or wrong, working with strawberries has got to be a tasty job.

The California Strawberry Commission is extremely active in social media and they have just launched a free iPhone app called “strawberries” that includes 50 strawberry recipes from 50 bloggers. The next version will be launched in the fall and will include nutrition tips from dietitians and bloggers.  They are also running a recipe contest right now and the winner will win a $250 Amazon Gift Card!  Hurry up though because entry submissions end on August 31st.

Speaking of contest, you see that cute little strawberry tea kettle up there…one lucky reader will win one. It’s bright and colorful in a fun design with classic harvest colors and great detail. It has 2.5 Quart capacity and Plug-in harmonic whistle. You can find it at many national retailers for a suggested retail price of $29.99.
