If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you know that I’m not an exquisite chef but rather a highly unskilled mother just trying to make sure her family is eating. I love using kitchen gadgets so I was super excited when I was given the opportunity to try out the George Foreman Smart Kitchen Multicooker.
As I’m sure you know the George Foreman brand were the first to bring us indoor grills. Since their very first grill, which I owned, they have continued to bring us kitchen appliances helping us Knock Out the Fat™. The Smart Kitchen is a multicooker that can serve as your rice maker, your vegetable steamer and you can also use it to sear and cook your meats.
I’ve used the Smart Kitchen to cook chicken breasts and I was impressed at how fast the appliance heated up, how fast and evenly it cooked the chicken and how well the non-stick coating worked to make sure that clean-up was easier. However, with a family of five I had to cook the chicken in separate batches because the cooker just wasn’t big enough to cook chicken for the whole family.
I also used the Smart Kitchen to make a favorite for us in the winter…soup! I was able to cook the onions, carrots and celery to soften them up a little, then I added the ground turkey and let it brown. Once the meat was ready, I added the stock and let it sit for a while while turning the temperature down. Once we were ready to eat dinner, I added the noodles and by the time the table was set and everyone was in the kitchen, our soup was ready to be devoured.
I’m a big fan of one-pot meals and this yummy soup is a favorite with the whole family.
While there are many things to love about the George Foreman Smart Kitchen Multicooker, I’ve found that for my family that it’s not really a necessity. We have a crock pot and a steamer, so for us it’s just an extra appliance to take up space. It’s easier for me to cook my meats in a big skillet so that I can cook for the whole family at one time. While I was able to prepare our soup in it, I can do that in our crockpot and even on our stove.
If you have a smaller family and if you don’t have any other counter-top appliances I think this could be an appliance that could really help make kitchen time more enjoyable.

Okay this thing is great! I love all my George Foreman products but I don’t have this one. I make a lot of 2 piece meals, like 2 pieces of chicken or pork and everything is always huge! Smaller would be better!

it would be great for me, since I live in a travel trailer and space is at a minimum. it could very well replace 3 small appliances I already have.
