Sometimes things happen and we end up with scars that we’re uncomfortable with. If you have one of those scars, read Alesha’s ScarAway Scar Diminishing Serum Review.
When I was twelve, I was in a car accident that left me with a few scars. I have a scar between my eyes from stitches that healed quite well. I have a scar on my elbow and one on my knee that are a little more obvious. My mother even took me to a plastic surgeon to see about removing them, but because of their locations, he was unable to change anything. Neither scar is terrible; most of the time both are covered by clothing. When I was offered the opportunity to try out a new scar removal product, I decided to tackle the scar on my knee to really put this product to the test. I also wanted to minimize a scar my four-year-old son has under his chin from an unfortunate collision with our coffee table 9 months ago.
ScarAway Scar Diminishing Serum
ScarAway Scar Diminishing Serum is available over the counter as a treatment to shrink, flatten and fade scars which may result from surgical procedures, injuries, burns, stretch marks, or acne. We received the ScarAway Scar Diminishing Serum several weeks ago. Here are the before pictures of my sons chin and my scars:
ScarAway is housed in a pen-like tube about the size of a mascara wand. Here is a picture of the wand in my hand:
The tube has three tiny silver roller balls on the tip, and a “clicker” on the other end to dispense the serum. It is a very easy serum to use with virtually no mess. It is clear and doesn’t stain clothes nor does it have an odor of any type. It does not feel cool, warm, or sticky when applied to the skin. It does not cause any tingling, stinging or other sensation to the skin either. It is really an easy product to use.
For optimal results, ScarAway should be massaged into the scar for one to two minutes, twice daily. Now, I am not one of those people who takes medicine everyday or who does well with a daily routine. Some days I even forget to wash my face! Having said that, I will be honest here. I used it once a day, when I remembered, and for just one minute. It was a fight most days to get it on my son’s scar because of the location of it; he had to tilt his head all the way back so I could see his chin. Sixty seconds is apparently a long time for a four-year-old to hold that position. It is also recommended to use the serum for 12 weeks for new scars and five or six months for older scars. I’m not sure how new “new” is or how old “older” is. Obviously, my scar is over 18 years old, but my son’s scar is less than a year old. We used the product for around six weeks, and as I said before, not daily. (Spring Break is not an easy week to remember to use a scar serum!) Looking back at the before picture of my son, I think I can see signs of improvement. The scar does not look as raised as it was prior to using the ScarAway serum. My own scar showed very little change.
All in all, my results were a little inconclusive. Perhaps if I had used the product more consistently and for a few more weeks, I would have gotten better results. If you have a scar that really bothers you or makes you self-conscious, I would try this product. The ease of use alone makes it a worthy choice.

I may have to look at getting that for my son, he has a scar under his eye from an accident at school that required stitches.

I have a scar in the middle of my forehead from when I cracked my head open when I was two. I have to be honest, it has never bothered me, I’m far more self conscious about my teeth than that scar LOL!

I would have been shocked if it had made a difference in your childhood scar, but I can tell your son’s is improved. 🙂
