Thinking about the 2012 Nissan Versa? This past weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Seattle and learn all about the 2012 Nissan Versa to share with you.
The all-new 2012 Nissan Versa offers the lowest starting price of compact cars ringing up at only $10,990! And can you believe it actually works — it’s a real car and everything.
You won’t be getting a striped down car, but rather a car complete with air conditioning, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, AM/FM/CD/Aux-in audio system and an advanced 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with dual injector system and twin Continuously Variable Timing Control (CVTC). You’ll also be happy to know that the Versa’s fuel economy is estimated at 33 mpg combined with the CVT transmission.
In addition to starting at only $10,990 and having respectable gas mileage, this car offers more space than any compact car! Just look at that trunk. It’s huge. The 2012 Nissan Versa redesign shortens the front of the car to allow for more a roomy interior.
While I was in Seattle with the Nissan team, I had the opportunity to take the 2012 Nissan Versa out for a drive around town. I drove up very steep hills (in the rain), had to stop quite abruptly (don’t ask) and drove freely on the highway. I think that during my time test driving the Versa that I got to experience multiple driving scenarios. There are a ton of things I love about the Versa and a few I don’t.
I’m sure we can all agree that the starting price is nothing to laugh at. I’m going to venture and say that there is probably not another vehicle that even comes close to that starting price. The space inside is pretty roomy. I think the car would be perfect for a college student and even a small family. I don’t think it would work for me (I have three kids) but I do think it would work great for families of four or less.
For the price, I think the interior is quite stylish. It definitely doesn’t look like a “cheap” car. I was comfortable in the car and it didn’t feel like I was in a compact car. I’m a tall gal and had plenty of leg room. However, I did notice while going down the freeway that the road noise was quite loud. My partner for the test drive agreed.
Overall, I liked the car! I wouldn’t personally purchase the Versa for my family simply because we wouldn’t all fit, but I could totally see myself buying one for my children when the time is right.
The 2012 Nissan Versa will be available in early August in three well-equipped models:
- Versa Sedan 1.6 S (offered in 5MT and CVT versions)
- Versa Sedan 1.6 SV (CVT only)
- Versa Sedan 1.6 SL (CVT only)
