That was the question Louise and I were asked while in San Diego for BlogHer.
Hillshire Farm had a booth set up and they wanted to know what gave us motivation to cook. If you know me at all, you know that I’m a really shy person. Not only am I shy, I get terrified and it’s like my mind shuts down. So, getting anything to come out of my mouth is a huge chore. I wasn’t going to share this, but since Louise already did, what the heck — here you go!
{No laughing though, you hear?}
There are so many reasons that I love to cook and just recently I have really learned to enjoy the time I have in the kitchen. I love trying different ingredients and trying to create something that is healthy for my family and that tastes absolutely delicious.

I like to cook for the creativity. Not only that is it super expensive to eat out as a family in Germany. We are talking for a whole meal for 4 people it cost about 60 euro a clip. Well with todays exchange rate thats 85 american dollars. So we don’t do that often.

I really donot cook that much since I was brought up in a home that I didnot have alot of opportunities to do anything until I got older.But I cook because it helps me to calm my nerves when I am cooking it also gives me a chance to feed my children when there are alot of children out there that donot have a decent meal to eat.So that was why I cook.

That was totally cute, I don’t think your mind shut down. I think your answers both hit the nail on the head. I enjoy cooking because I know it’s good for my family, and it’s also a creative outlet for me, it allows me to try new things.

You answered the question so well and don’t look shy at all. In any of your videos. I’m the shy one! I want to attend BlogHer next year but I’m so shy I don’t know if I can do it.

What a cute video!
The Jimmy Dean crew videotaped me and I was soooo nervous. I don’t know if the video is posted anywhere, I hope not, LOL.
You did a great job…..
I also love to cook because I can be creative and add the ingredients that I want. While eating out is fun, I also think cooking for the family is fun too!

Great video! I started cooking at a very young age, by watching my mom and helping her add ingredients. At 17 when I moved out on my own I had no choice and had to our I would a.) starve or b,) eat fast food daily. I decided I wanted neither of those and started buying cookbooks like crazy. I read for hours and started to experiment. If the recipe didn’t taste to my liking I would add stuff whether it be onions, a certain spice, garlic etc. I have so many “from scratch” recipes which I now share on my blog. My family loves my cooking as do I. Although, dinners are necessarily healthy, breakfast, snacks and lunch always are. We kinda eat what we want for dinner, but I still try to use whole grain tortillas if we are having tacos, enchiladas etc, and use low fat, low salt everything!!! Cooking is fun for everyone in the home, and Zoe is always by my side:)
