My daughter is quite the little artist. She loves to draw, she loves to create and she loves to use her imagination.
The past week at school one of her assignments was to draw a city and I think she did amazing job. She obviously didn’t have our little city in mind when creating her masterpiece (our city only has 1,200 people), but it’s a city nonetheless. I’m thinking since all I see is an airport and hospital, she’ll probably be a doctor or pilot when she grows up.
(Just a funny note — when I told my daughter she spelled hospital wrong, she told me that “hospitel” was a hospital and a hotel. I think she may be on to something here LOL.)
Is your child or children artistic and do they love to draw? If so, THQ and uDraw invite your kid(s) to embrace their artistic inspiration and share “what your city, your town, or your community means to you.” uDraw Your City has just launched a nationwide art contest for children ages 6 to 17 years old to share what they like about their city through art. Submissions can be done through a uDraw GameTablet (if you have one) or you can just do like my daughter and use traditional pencil and paper.
You can submit drawings through October 31st. The grand prize winner will receive a package worth more than $15,000, including a uDraw, and a $10,000 cash prize that the winner can choose to apply toward a college scholarship. Additionally, THQ will donate $10,000 to the winner’s school of choice to help support its art program. Entries will be judged on artistic merit (based on age group), creativity, and adherence to the overall city theme.

Well Crystal this was not a Draw your city project. But the project that I gave one of my children was to design a box that will be going into their school next week to collect coupons for the soldiers that are stationed overseas.

That’s great that you’re teaching your children to help others! WTG, mama!

love her drawing. I can never get my kids to create on demand so I wanted to have them enter the contest but they haven’t come up with anything yet.
Crystal says
She actually drew that at school. When she brought it home, I was so excited because I didn’t think I’d have anything to submit for the post LOL!

Zoe is always making creations. Gavyn gives up before trying so I have to explain over and over try buddy. He will and then say it stinks. He is so negative and only 9. However he is doing his first project for fourth grade and so proud so far. Your daughter did a great job!

Your daughter did a fantastic job for her age!
My daughter is constantly drawing – on the computer and paper – she is a sophomore and has decided that she wants to take graphic arts as a degree for college.

Very clever with that hospital hotel!
