With summer in full swing, I’ve been trying new recipes that don’t require the use of the oven. With temperatures reaching well into the 100’s each afternoon, the less I use the oven, the better it is!
I recently received some samples of Nakano Seasoned Rice Vinegar along with a recipe booklet with more than 30 recipes. I was given the task of recreating a recipe provided and then sharing it with you!
After going through the recipes, I decided on one where I didn’t have to use the oven. The California Caviar recipe seemed simple enough, light enough and would go well with tacos. The recipe only requires a few measuring cups, a cutting board and a knife. Simple recipes are always my favorite recipes!
While I’ve had a similar recipe before using slightly different ingredients, this is the first time I’ve used Nakano Seasoned Rice Vinegar in a recipe like this. I like that I can add the flavor the recipe needed without adding a fatty or high-calorie condiment. Plus, the longer it sat in the refrigerator, the more the flavors melded together and the final product was a bold, healthy side dish!

Not a fan of black beans. The seasoned rice wine sounds interesting though, especially as a dressing.

I cant find the Nakano Seasoned Red Wine Vinegar anywhere
Crystal says
If you can’t find this brand Mike, another brand would work to.
Mike says
I’ve had this one before and it hits my favorite list big time for all sorts of food
creations, so if you know of or find an online retailer please publish that.
My salads miss the rain of it’s flavor.
Crystal says
Totally understand. Have you tried Amazon yet?
Mike says
Yes, Amazon had it in the past, now its no longer available.
I saw a post reply from the company to a request from someone asking them
to bring it back .
They said they moved it to their Holland House brand so you’ll see it
pictured on several sites however, it’s not available as well.
That’s strange when companies do that.
Oh well time to move on.
