With back-to-school right around the corner for us, I’ve been bombarded with thoughts, ideas and anxieties about the kiddos going back to school. I want to make the transition as easy as I can for all of us.
I recently received the Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit for the children to use when they take their lunch to school. Last year, we did a variety of Bento-style lunches and I plan on doing the same this year, along with your traditional lunch box items.
The Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit consists of four modular containers and an ice pack that all snap together to make packing lunches easy. The containers snap together in multiple configurations so that you can efficiently use the space in the lunch bag. The containers, which come in varying sizes, have measurements on the side of each container so that you can pack the perfect portion sizes.
The containers in the LunchBlox Sandwich Kit includes a sandwich container sized for regular and specialty breads, two smaller snack containers and a larger snack container. As you can see in the picture above, I used a smaller snack container for yogurt, the other smaller snack container for a cut up cheese stick, the larger snack container for grape tomatoes and the larger container for a sandwich.
I’m a big fan of the Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit. However, I have noticed that because the lids fit so well and have a secure fit, they are hard to get off the containers. I think my fourth grader might be able to get all the lids off herself, but I don’t my little first grader would be able to. Regardless if they can use them or not, I’ll be able to use it for my lunch and family outings.
The containers are BPA-free and microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. I’ve put mine through the dishwasher several times on the top rack, and so far, so good.

You can purchase the Rubbermaid LunchBlox Sandwich Kit at many retailers nationwide for the suggested retail price of $12.99.

Saw these in the store the other day and almost bought them, wish they were just a “tab” bit cheaper as I can see my kids “accidentally” throwing them out.

I love Rubbermaid! Apparently, so do our relatives. We are down to only 2 containers and can’t account for the rest. I’m positive they’re scattered between a few family members who never returned them. Lol.

I have been eyeing these for awhile now — sounds like it might be best to wait since I don’t think my 3 year old or 5 year old would be able to get lids off either.
