Meet Missy | A New Addition to the Team

*Note: I decided I could no longer do all the work by myself and went on a search for contributors and writers. I found Missy and I couldn’t be more excited.

Hi everyone! My name is Missy (and no, it’s not a nickname, my mom always told me she named me after a neighbor’s dog) and I’m excited to be joining Crystal’s team here at Simply Being Mommy.

I’m 38 years old, and have three great kids, a wonderful husband, a cat that I suspect I’m allergic to, and a one-eyed goldfish! Michelle is my oldest, she just turned 17 this summer and is a senior this year (gulp!), followed by Gavin, 9, and Garrett, who is almost 7. They are active kids who participate in quite a few sports and other various activities that keep me on my toes! My husband Wayne is my best friend, partner, and soul mate. I know it sounds corny but it’s true so I have to give him a ton of credit, he’s my rock!

I also work full-time as a Registered Nurse, and oh yeah, I’m working on my master’s degree. The busier I get the more things I find I want to do, so I’m really looking forward to returning to one of my first loves in life, writing! At one point I was planning on becoming a journalist, but life threw me a few curve balls and I put writing on the back burner. I have no complaints though, I’m so thankful I was eventually drawn to nursing because I love it!

For years I’ve been an internet junkie, starting with message boards about ten years ago when pregnant with my second child. I love to read real-life stories about other people from many different walks of life, and share information, laughter, advice, tips and tricks. I’ve met some truly awesome women online over the years and many have become dear friends who have enriched my life in ways I can’t even adequately describe. I hope that through my contributions to Simply Being Mommy I will be able to share some of my insights about the things that make my life easier, or even better, simply make you smile and brighten your day.
