The cold season hit early in my house, and I’m home playing doctor to my two little girls. Since I knew today would be a day spent mostly indoors, I decided to make it extra fun by surprising my daughters with Little Mommy Doctor Mommy Doll.
The interactive doll encourages children to nurture and tend to her by actually talking. Her numerous phrases include statements like, “My ear hurts, Mommy” and “Is there a boo boo in there?” Wouldn’t it be nice if all babies told us what was wrong? Harper, 3, was very engaged with the talking aspect of the doll. She responded, even if it was to tell the doll that no she didn’t feel hot.
I was pleased to see that the doll was equipped with an on/off switch. This feature will save the batteries (3 AA batteries are required for the doll and not included), but also gives me the opportunity to turn her off at night. Caring for a sick baby doll in the middle of the night is too realistic.
To better care for her, the doll comes with a carry-along doctor’s kit filled with “magic” tools. The tools included are: thermometer, stethoscope, tongue depressor, medicine bottle with dropper, booster shot, knee knocker, and bandage. The doll responds to the tools differently. The tongue depressor makes her say, “Ahhhh,” while the medicine dropper causes her to slurp. The bandage and booster shot, however, don’t elicit any response. I wouldn’t want her to cry when she got a shot!
For the Little Mommy, the child-sized sparkly stethoscope and clip-on doctor badge will increase the fun of role-playing. Watching the stethoscope’s light flash and listening to the heartbeat made my girls feel like they were actually giving their patient a check-up. Another favorite aspect of this doll was the ability to “cure” her. A red light glows inside the doll’s head making her “fever” quite visible. If you give her medicine, the light turns back off.
This unique doll allows for a great interaction between patient and Little Mommy. I know she made my girls feel all better!

It’d make a great holiday gift. 🙂
Kelly @ A Girl Worth Saving says
So cute! I think it’s cruelty to parents when animated toys do not have an on/off switch.
Melanie says
I am always so happy to see that switch! It’s a big sigh of relief!
Kathleen says
Sounds cool. Dolls sure have come a long way from when I was a little girl.
Melanie says
I know! I love seeing how far toys these days can stretch their imaginations!

Both your girls and the doll are too cute.

Thank you! They loved the look of the doll, too.
Pam says
Perfect gift for a child requiring a hospital stay!
Melanie says
That’s a great idea. It’s a great introduction to what each of the doctor tools do, also.
Mellisa says
Everytime the commercial comes on for the Little Mommy Doctor doll my daughter stops what she is doing to watch. I think this will definitely be on her wish list for Christmas.
Melanie says
Has she started her list yet? I feel like we start the list sooner and sooner each year.
Becca @ Mama B says

Great role model doll.
Melanie says
Absolutely. My younger daughter loves to play “I’m the Mommy, you’re the Sweetheart.” She loved playing the role of the mommy and doctor with this sweetheart of a doll.
Jennifer says
so adorable. I love all the extra pieces she comes with. I can see little girls watching Doc Mcstuffins while playing with this doctor doll
Melanie says
This doll will tell you what to add to the “Big Book of Boo Boos” with all she has to say.
Nichol says
We are huge Little Mommy fans in our home. Zoe gets a new one for Christmas every year. I think I’ll have to add this one, she loves playing doctor.
Melanie says
I’m new to the Little Mommy line. Any recommendations for other dolls? Harper was really into this baby doll and would love another.
Nichol says
Oh gosh let me see. She loves Little Mommy My Very Real Baby Doll (very cheap on Amazon right now. Thy started out at $74.99 now only $34.17). We have Dancy Dancy, Play All Day and the baby doll. I hear the newer Princess and the potty doll is wonderful although we don’t have her. Good luck in finding your daughter some new dolls:)
Melanie says
Thanks for the recommendations. The Dancy Dancy doll would be a hit. I think the Pop Star Doll is super cute too! I do Black Friday shopping for Christmas (not because it’s that much cheaper, but because it is so easy to shop in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping). Got to add those to the list.
Jennifer The Quirky Momma says
Cool dolly! My tween is too old for baby dolls but she still plays with her Monster High ‘action figures.’ hehe
HilLesha says
Simply too cute!
Lolo says
That doll is adorable!
Karen Medlin says
So Cute, reminds me of the doll the tween needs to carry around for a few weeks for a class at school. Love the technology to dolls today, takes the kids imagination a bit further. It will help a lot of kids to not fear going to the doctor!
thank you for sharing.
Melanie says
I used a bag of sugar!
Colleen says
This is adorable, Honey is such a car giver that she loves toys like this.
Melanie says
We have a Honey in my family too! It’s actually a nickname, but I’ve become so accustomed to it that I forget she has another name.
Ty @ Mama of 3 Munchkins says
Awww, how cute!
Leilani says
So cute! This would be perfect for my 3yo. She’s been pretending to be a doctor with her lil sister.
Melanie says
My three year old was really into taking care of her. She’s the younger sister so it makes her feel big to have someone to take care of. 🙂
Courtney says
Can’t wait for the doll stage with my daughter!

Stefani says
What a cute doll. This would make a great gift for Christmas.
Notorious Spinks says
We bought the little one a baby doll and she never plays with it. LOL!
Melanie says
Kids are funny that way. For years, neither of my girls would go near a stuffed animal. They just weren’t interested.
A Time Out for Mommy- Elaina says
We got ours! Now I have to hide it until Christmas!
Melanie says
My little detectives are on to my hiding spot. Where do you hide yours?
Jenn says
Cute! My toddler would like this. Yay for being able to turn her off at night, right? 😉
Melanie says
Absolutely! I wish all toys had off switches.
Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell says
She looks so serious when she’s using the stethoscope. Maybe she’ll actually become a doctor one day. Cute doll! And love the on/off.
