I remember when I learned how to ride my bike and my dad took my training wheels off for the first time. When he let go and I rode off, it felt awesome and I felt so accomplished. Unfortunately, that feeling was short lived because I quickly fell. It took several tries and several falls before I was confidently riding off on my own. One thing’s for sure though, I’ll never forget those falls. They HURT!
I’m so glad Burley has introduced the MyKick Push Bike, also known as a balance bike, for little ones to learn in a whole new way! With the MyKick Push Bike, little ones may be too young to pedal a bike but are now able to power along by kicking. They can learn how to coast and balance on two wheels all on their own.
With this new balance bike, gone are the days of learning with training wheels and taking them off at just the right time hoping your little one is ready. This bike teaches them the fundamentals of balance and control.
When the MyKick landed on our front porch, I held off on opening it until my husband got home. Little did I know that inside that box would be a fully assembled little bike that only needed a little tightening and adjusting to get it just right for our little one.
The handlebars are very easy to adjust and tighten and the seat can be easily raised or lowered with a lever just under the seat. The other thing I love about the ease of adjusting is that it means both of my boys can ride it even though there is a slight size difference between them. Not only that, but the easy adjustments means the bike can grow along with them.
My little guy couldn’t have been more excited to put on his helmet and put his new tires on the sidewalk to do some practicing.
The MyKick, is suggested for children 3 and above, but my 2 year old had no problem trying it out and enjoying it, too! Burley does recommend all users be less than 50 pounds.
The MyKick features:
- Easily adjustable, kid-sized seat
- Adjustable handlebars with comfortable rubber grips
- Rubber, long lasting, flat-free tires and quality spoked wheels
- Available in kid friendly colors like Fire Truck Red, Cotton Candy Pink, and Summer Green
While the bike is something that will take continued practice to master, I love knowing they can try it out on their own without having to run right behind them just hoping I can catch them when they fall. With the MyKick, all they have to do is coast along with their feet in the air while learning how to balance and then put their feet on the ground to stop. Once they’ve learned that, I can easily sit back and enjoy watching them instead of worrying about the many scrapes and bruises I may have to kiss.

To get your kid started on their own MyKick Push Bike, you can search for your very own local dealer. The suggested retail price is $129.99!

I really wish I had had one of these for my youngest when he was smaller. He still has no interest in learning to ride a bike now.

This is a great idea for those starting to learn. The whole pedaling thing is the most difficult part and it’d be much more efficient to let them focus on balancing first!

This balance bike looks awesome. My cousin had one and was riding without training wheels by 3. My daughter just turned 6 and refuses to ride her bike:(
