During the last week of June my family and I went on a much needed vacation to the beach.  Although I live close to a beach, it’s not the kind of beach I want to take my children to so we decided to take an eight and a half hour trip east to the coast of Alabama.

We stayed in a condo right on the beach and our time there was absolutely amazing.  We all had a wonderfully enjoyable time playing on the beach and eating as much seafood as our bellies would allow.

As I was planning our vacation and pondering on whether or not I should purchase a new swimsuit, the folks over at Albion offered to send me a swimsuit of my choice.  I took it as a sign I needed new swimwear so I took them up on their offer and picked out the Big Polka Suit in Black & White.

As many of you already know, my surrogacy journey ended back in February when I gave birth to little Zachary.  With my body not completely back to its pre-pregnancy state, I wanted a swimsuit that helped to camouflage the tummy area.  Seeing that I’ve birthed four children, I’ll take all the camouflaging I can get.

This two-piece suit (each piece is purchased separately) is one of the most comfortable swimsuits I’ve ever worn.  I don’t think I’ve ever been more uncomfortable with my body than I am right now and this suit helped with some of my insecurities during our time at the beach.  It’s suitable for a mom and still has a little sass!

The halter top features a sweetheart neckline and is longer in length than most suits I’ve seen. I LOVED this.  I could raise my arms and do pretty much anything a mom would need to do with 3 children running around without exposing my tummy!  It was fitting without being overly tight-fitting and I just felt comfortable wearing it.  The bottoms feature a waist-defining sash detail that I thought added a cute touch.

Overall, I really like this suit.  If I could make any improvements, I would love to have a more full bottom piece, maybe like a boy-leg fit or something similar.  It is machine-washable in cold water, but it is recommended that you line dry.  I’ve washed and line-dried twice so far and I haven’t noticed any fading or snags.

    I love the high waisted bikinis they offer, but need to conjure up the guts before making a purchase of a bikini….. next idea would be a sports bra or yoga pants. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!
