I can’t believe the summer is almost over and my children will be headed back to school in a few short weeks. Just the thought of it brings big old crocodile tears to my eyes. No more babies at home for me because my “baby” is now a kindergartner. I’m not sure how I’m going to handle the hours of silence while they are away, but I’m pretty certain I’ll have enough to do around the house to keep me busy.

Peyton will be the talk of his kindergarten class in these fun Star Wars By Stride Rite Vader Light & Sound Sneakers.  At the push of a button you can hear the iconic sound of Darth Vader’s breathing and with each step red lights light up along the back of the shoes.

The molded Darth mask across the front of the shoe is not only super cool, but it is also the velcro closure that makes these shoes perfect for little boys who haven’t quite mastered shoelaces yet.  The mesh lining along the top of the shoe allows for breathability so that the little ones feet stay comfortable and cool.

As with previous experiences with Stride Rite shoes, these seem to be made with superior workmanship with high quality materials.  When my children were younger with much wider feet, we depended on the quality of Stride Rite shoes to get us through when no other shoes fit on their fat little feet.  If your child has wide feet, you’ll be excited to hear that these are available in medium and wide widths!

Peyton absolutely loves these shoes and they’ve been the only shoes on his feet since they arrived at our doorstep. The red/black/silver color scheme makes it a versatile shoe that can be worn with pretty much any outfit.

Update: I don’t think these are available anymore, but there are some other Star Wars shoes to choose from.

    Well, the giveaway for these Star Wars shoes caught myattention, for I have a kid who LOVES Star Wars. Which warms my heart! Since I am a Sci Fi fanatic! And if he did not choose these, I am sure he would want the Racer Lights shoes. Probably in the blue color.

    Woops, I didn’t read the instructions before posting. I visited Stride Rite and the other shoes I think my son would like are the Star Wars™ by Stride Rite Morphing Lightsaber (Kid).
