Have kids heading back to school? Check out these Clean & Clear Products for the PERFECT back to school skincare routine.
Depending on the needs of your skin, your face care regimen can and should change as your skin changes. For me, my face has always been oily and prone to acne. Now that I’m a little older, while still oily and prone to acne, I now have the occasional dry spots to deal with. I know how frustrating it is to always worry about your skin. It’s hard as an adult and I remember clearly just how much harder it was as a teenager.
Our face is often the first thing anyone sees and unfortunately will likely be what they judge us by. As a person who struggled with acne, I understand how completely devastating that can be. We don’t get to decide our skin type and we have to learn how to properly care for our skin so that we always feel confident and proud.
Whether you’re heading back to school or not, here are some Clean & Clear products for your back to school skincare routine.
- Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub: This is an oil free face wash with bursting beads that helps to wake you up while gently exfoliating your skin with vitamin c and ginseng.
- Clean & Clear Advantage Oil Absorbing Cream Cleanser: This is also on oil free face wash with salicylic acid acne medication. It instantly washes away 85% of built up oil on your skin, treats current breakouts and helps prevent future breakouts. Since it is oil free it also helps to control shine throughout the day.
- Clean & Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser: If you have sensitive skin, this one is for you. It washes away problem-causing dirt, oil and make-up without over-drying your face. This is also an oil-free cleanser.
- Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer: This multi-purpose moisturizer helps by moisturizing dry skin, treating current pimples and helps prevent new pimples.
- Clean & Clear Essentials Deep Cleaning Toner: This toner is oil free and contains salicylic acid acne medication. It’s good for those with sensitive skin and it helps to treat current pimples and helps to prevent future pimples.
- Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets: These portable sheets are perfect for on the go. You can use them to gently blot away excess oil while keeping your makeup where you want it.
As a Clean & Clear Ambassador, I sometimes have opportunities to ask experts skincare questions. I reached out to my Facebook fans and asked them what they would like to ask a skincare expert. Here are their questions and responses from Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Whitney Bowe.
Question 1: My daughter is 11 and just started menstruation. She is breaking out, but I’m not sure what products are safe for her younger skin. Is there a Clean & Clear product that would be good for her?
Products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide would be ideal for her. Try the Clean & Clear ESSENTIALS Sensitive Skin collection as a starting point.
Question 2: My 12-year-old hit puberty way early (10), now she is breaking out really bad. What can she do on her sensitive skin?
Pre-teen acne (acne in a child 7-12) is actually quite common. It may be the very first sign of puberty. For face, one study showed that three out of four girls, ages nine and 10, already had acne. Try to start her on the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Kit, which has a three-step regimen.
Question 3: What to do for combination skin and what to do for redness in 10-year-old?
Combination skin can benefit from a moisturizer outside of the T-zone, and a moisture-absorbing ingredient like rice protein within the T-zone. Try Clean & Clear Advantage Oil Absorbing Cream Cleanser. Redness in a 10 year old can be due to a number of different factors. First try a moisturizer that contains a calming ingredient like colloidal oatmeal or feverfew (try Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 15) and if that’s not doing the trick in a few weeks, it’s best to bring the 10 year old to see a dermatologist to determine what the cause is.
As a mom of a ten year old daughter, I’ve been thinking about starting her on a skincare routine. I struggled with acne as a teenager (and still do as an adult) and if possible, I don’t want that for my children. It’s nice to know there are Clean & Clear products that are safe for those with young, sensitive skin.
Lets make this school year the best it can be. Teach your children good oral care and help them establish a skin care routine that will help them look and feel their best at all times.

I was so lazy as a teen and hated washing my face. I bet I would look ten years younger at 40 if I had a regimen instead of just relying on the shower.
