Creating a Keepsake of Memories with the Sony HandyCam

As much as I try to ignore the fact my babies are growing up, it’s happening right before my eyes. The tiny little babies I could once hold in my arms, barely fit on my lap now. With each passing day, they get older, and bigger. It’s all happening so fast and I can’t do anything to stop it.

Taking pictures and recording videos is a very important part of my life as a mom. I want to have all these moments stored up so that when I’m old and gray I can look back at my life. To be able to see my children young again, to look back at all the places we visited and people we saw. It’s so easy to just live in the moment. But these moments fade so quickly, y’all. And I don’t want to ever forget them. Not a single one.

Last year my husband and I went to the Dominican Republic on a vacation, just the two of us. As much as I enjoyed the time alone with my husband, the whole time we were there I kept thinking about how much our children would have enjoyed it. I thought ahead and brought our Sony HandyCam Camcorder so that we could capture the beauty for the kids to see once we got back.

The Sony HandyCam Camcorder is just the perfect size for traveling because of its compact size. I was able to carry it around with us during our time in the Dominican Republic without it being a hassle to tote around. The handy-dandy little strap on the side makes it easy to hold in your hand and the adjustable velcro strap makes it suitable for hands of all sizes. When the camcorder is on your hand, all the operating buttons are in easy reach of your fingers and thumb.

This camcorder captures your special moments in 1920 x 1080/60p Full HD video so that when you are watching it the second time around, it’s just as special. You can also capture stills at 8.9 megapixels while recording video. This makes it easy to never miss the perfect photo op.

You can share your captured memories in a couple of easy ways: by connecting the camcorder to your television through a HDMI cable, or by using the built-in projector. You can also save them to your computer via a USB that is smartly placed on the hand strap or you can save to a SD card (not included).

There really are so many features that I like about this camcorder but one of my favorites is the Tracking Focus. As a mom of three very energetic children, it’s very rare that they are still. Tracking Focus works with Face Detection technology to ensure that the focus stays on your intended subject. To select the subject, you simply touch the subject you want to keep in focus on the LCD screen of the camcorder. If the subject leaves the frame and then returns, the camcorder will continue to keep the focus on the subject.

I’ve been using this camera for about six months now and my only complaint is the way I have to charge it. I keep a couple Mini USB chargers at my desk at all times because almost every single one of my devices can be charged with a Mini USB. This camcorder can not. You have to use the power cord provided to charge the rechargeable battery. While there is a Mini USB port and a USB, from my experience, neither of these can be used to recharge the battery.

Overall I’m incredibly pleased with the Sony HandyCam Camcorder and love that I can save all my videos onto my computer.
