I love my cute, little house. I love it so much I’m already planning its centennial birthday, which is still five years away. The trouble with my cute, little house is that it’s just that — cute and little. We moved in with just four of us, but now that our family has expanded we are running a little short on real estate.
All parents can attest that babies need a lot of stuff. There are jumper things, bouncy seats, high chairs, the list goes on and on. But one room that was getting really cramped was the bathroom. 23. There were 23 bottles of soap, shampoo, and lotion in my bathroom. And that’s not including first aid supplies, hair goop, or the assorted other things my husband would rather not know about.
As I’ve spent this month as an ambassador for Earth Mama, I’ve grown to love so many of their products. I’ve ditched lanolin in exchange for GMO-free Natural Nipple Butter; I’ve tossed out other creams and started warding off diaper rash with Angel Baby Bottom Balm. I’m focusing my attention not just on what I put inside my family through the foods we eat, but also on what I put on them.
But aside from loving the Earth Mama products for the effective original usages, I’m loving Earth Mama because it’s helping me clean out my medicine cabinet. Each of the Earth Mama products offers a wide variety of uses. By using Earth Mama products, I’m cutting clutter and choosing safe and toxic-free options for my family.
Of all the products, my favorite was the Bottom Balm. When Poppy woke up with the beginning of diaper rash, I quickly applied a thin layer. By the next diaper change, the redness was gone. To ensure it stays away, I’m keeping it on hand for these warm days. But when my older daughter stepped on a splinter, the Bottom Balm came in handy again as a soothing cream for her boo-boo.
When buying products for my family I need them to work and be affordable. Earth Mama products are both of those things, plus certified organic. The news this week was warning of the use of antibacterial hand sanitizer. How can you win as a consumer and as a parent when the products you trust turn out to be harmful? You win by selecting products from companies like Earth Mama that are dedicated to keeping your family safe.
So as I cut the clutter from my bathroom by continuing to use multi-purpose products from Earth Mama, I’m also cutting out the harmful junk I don’t want on or in my family.
How do you cut the clutter?

I’d never heard of this company before, but it looks like a great line for babies. I’ll be checking it out.
Melanie says
It is great for babies, but they’ve got a whole line of products that work well for anyone. We’ve been sharing with the baby and happy with the results.
Kimberly Grabinski says
These sound like great products, we are always on the lookout for safe & organic products.
Melanie says
We are also. I prefer organic products, but they have to work well to get me to continue to purchase them. We’ve been very pleased with all of the products we’ve reviewed.

You just reminded me that I need to clean out the bathroom closet. There are a ton of products that probably need to go. I’m trying to stick with more natural products.
Melanie says
I need to find a use for half-full bottles of lotion!
Shell Feis says
Sound like amazing products. I would love to cut back on the clutter by adding Angel Baby Bottom Balm.
Melanie says
It feels good to have tidy spaces, doesn’t it? The Bottom Balm is so helpful for a multitude of purposes, as are all of the Earth Mama products.
Yoly says
Sounds like a great product. Plus, you reminded me that it’s that time to clean the bathroom cabinets.
Lisa says
I need to try that balm!
Anne-Marie @ This Mama Cooks! On a Diet says
I wish this was around when my kids were little. It was hard to find organic baby products 10+ years ago!
Melanie says
It was! I love that we have more organic options available to us.

I live in a small apartment (900 square feet for our family of 4) and the only way I can avoid our storage areas from becoming cluttered is to not keep the things we never use. This has led to me giving away perfectly good things because they sat there for months. Other than that, I could use some help!
Earth Mama is my favorite brand for my girls, though, so that STAYS!
Melanie says
I’m so glad you love it too! Any favorites? I reviewed things pertaining to the baby, but I’m dying to know what to try next.

My favorite is the Lavender Vanilla line, my kids fall asleep right after bath time when I use these http://www.earthmamaangelbaby.com/angel-baby/calming-lavender-bundle.html

I am to the point of just throwing out stuff if it has no more value or use. So tired of clutter.
Melanie says
I hear you! My girls like to make “experiments.” Basically they fill water bottles with water & then start putting in random soaps, lotions, confetti, etc. I used to harp on them not to waste things, but if it’s been sitting on a shelf for a year I need to let it go.
Jessica says
I love multi-use products. Sounds like you figured out a fantastic way to de-clutter your life.
Rachel @ Following In My Shoes says
Ha! I probably have well over 23 bottles in my bathroom … it’s ridiculous! So glad you were able to find a natural alternative to some of your bottles!
Emily says
I love this company! But I’ve not been using it for alternate stuff! That’s smart!!
melinda says
i haven’t use their stuff in ages. Love the smell
Kira says
Love the name Earth Mama however I’ve never heard of them. Sounds like a great product though, wish they were around when my little one was still in diapers, will check out their other products though.
Melanie says
They’ve got great products for every member of the family, not just babies. I think I may try the teas next. 🙂

I love Earth Mama products!!
I don’t have a great way to cut the clutter. i have too much stuff!
Cindy says
I’m a “greeny” myself and it SO cuts the clutter when you realize you can clean most of your house with vinegar, baking soda and lemons! Looks like they have some great products.
Melanie says
I love that! My dad grows lemons so I get mine from him. There are so many ways to make your own cleaning products, including using the Earth Mama soaps as a base. They’ve been working great for us.
HilLesha says
No matter how many times I try to cut down on clutter, I always manage to have so many beauty and hair products that I can open up my own beauty store if I wanted to. It’s crazy!
Melanie says
You should! It’s like selling the floor model of furniture. Slightly used shampoo at a fraction of the price!
Theresa @ Faith and Family Reviews says
We have a hard time with the clutter too, like HiLesha said we too could open our own beauty parlor with all the assorted things floating around the bathrooms, lol!
Melanie says
With four girls in our family, it’s getting a little bit crazy over here. If you’ve got any additional clutter strategies, I’m open to them!
Tammy says
I am not very good at all at cutting clutter 🙁 We try and go through and purge every few months and load up a bin to take to Goodwill.
Angela says
I haven’t heard of Earth Mama before. It sounds like a great brand of natural products.
valmg @ Mom Knows It All says
Thinking back to when when my boys were small, there were no products like this readily available to the public. And if they were they weren’t publicized or carried in big stores.
Elaina says
I haven’t tried Earth Mama but I’ve heard of them and love the idea of their all natural products.
Marcie W. says
I love the idea of getting rid of the chemical filled yuck inside most medicine cabinets and swapping things out for more natural options. I think going through our own cabinets soon would be a great idea!
