Now that my children have been in school for a few weeks, I’m finally getting accustomed to a quiet house again. It’s crazy how much I miss their little laughs and seeing their smiling faces all day long. I truly do enjoy having them at home with me. They bring spontaneity to an otherwise routine day and have a way of turning the most monotonous day into something exciting and colorful. But now that the first few weeks of school are behind us, I’m finally getting into a new groove. I’ve changed my work schedule around to allow for school activities, and I kind of enjoy having some free time to myself.
When we prepare for back to school and purchase back to school supplies, I always allow my children to purchase some supplies that are more desirable than the items that come in the prepackaged school supplies we purchase from the PTA every year. I think it helps them express themselves and it’s just fun for them. I’m willing to do anything to make school as enjoyable as I can for them.
For the first few years my oldest was in school, I wrote her name in a black sharpie on everything. That simple task takes up a huge chunk of time and once I had two in school, that really wasn’t an option for me. That is where these genius, back to school labels come in handy. They come in fun colors and designs, already have your child’s name of them, and they stick to almost anything. And, they’re durable enough hold up to the washing machine (Tag Mates labels) and dishwasher (Skinny-Minis labels).
I use the labels on pretty much everything I want to make sure makes it way back home, if the kids happen to forget it somewhere. On my daughters backpack, I used one of the 16 round labels. I also use the round labels for the inside of the kids’ shoes.
The Teeny Tags work perfectly for the backpacks and lunchboxes.
Even the smaller items, such as mechanical pencils can be labeled using the Tag Mates labels.
Being able to quickly label all three of my kids’ belongings is an appreciated time-saver. I’d rather spend the last few days of summer enjoying my children, rather than getting a cramp in my hand from using the black sharpie on all their things.
The Stylish Scholars Combo is new this year to the Mabel’s Labels lineup, but it’s only available for purchase until September 30th.
How do you label your children’s belongings?

We label all the things around here, too! I haven’t done pens/pencils, but I should because there is often disagreement about it at home!

We use labels here too. My kids aren’t school aged yet, but I already have to label their things for sports and church.

Love these labels. We have some that I got last year and they are still on the cups, etc that I put them on.

I never thought of putting labels within shoes. It seems silly to think they’d get mixed up, but kids do the funniest things!
Liz Mays says
I always used a Sharpie and it was so hard to find a spot on certain things to write. These labels are so much better. When my daughter went to college, I gave her a set of them and she still uses them!

I love Mabel’s Labels. We used them when the boys were still in school. They are much more stylish than a black marker, that’s for sure.

I love using personalized labels on all of my children’s school supplies as well as sweaters and jackets. They definitely save time and are so much easier (and cuter!) than handwriting everything.
