For the past seven years or so, I’ve been buying Johnson’s products for my children. The pink bottle of Johnson’s baby lotion will always be a favorite but I was recently introduced to a new line from Johnson’s, Johnson’s Natural. From reusable bags to fluorescent bulbs, I’ve been trying to find ways to lead a greener lifestyle and now I can incorporate natural products into my children’s everyday routine.
I recently received a box of goodies full of the new Johnson’s Natural line. The product line provides a unique combination of 98% naturally derived ingredients, designed to cleanse, hydrate and nourish your baby’s skin. You can still trust in the No More Tears Formula but now it contains no parabens, dyes, or essential oils.
If you are like me and cannot afford the high-end natural products at specialty stores this is a perfect alternative. It’s still gentle enough for babies skin and the bigger kids probably won’t feel like they are using “baby” soap.
The first thing I noticed was that the products didn’t have much of a scent. At first I wasn’t sure that I liked that, but since my babies are no longer babies I guess it’s okay. When I was pregnant with my children, I would sniff the Johnson’s baby lotion in the pink bottle and daydream about the baby in my belly. Weird, I know but it’s a true story. I also had a hard time getting the wash to get a very good lather when I washed the kids hair but it did fine on their skin. It washes off easily and doesn’t leave a residue in the water.
When I first picked up the bottles they seemed to have a non-slip surface. After doing a little bit of research, I don’t think it was intentionally made to be a non-slip surface because I didn’t find anything on the website. But regardless, I found it easy to hold on to even with wet hands. The bottles are made with 60% post-consumer recycled packaging, so not only does it naturally work to nurture your child’s skin, but also helps protect the environment.
As I mentioned earlier, the Johnson’s Natural line is a great choice compared to high-end alternatives. I’m glad a company has finally stepped up and given low and medium income families the opportunity to use natural products.

I use to love to smell the baby lotion when I use to put it on my children when they were babies! I am so glad they now have no parabens, dyes, or essential oils.

I love the smell of Johnson’s Baby things too! It’s good to know they’re nice and safe products, though!

My first thought when starting to read this was did it smell like Johnson’s Baby? Then you answered it, I should have know you would think like me. 🙂
You are right, though that as the kids get older, they don’t really need that smell, it is us mommy’s that do. Plus it’s nice to know that we have the option of a reasonably priced natural product.
Thanks for a great review, I’m going to look into it this for my “babies.”
