Healthy Cooking with the George Foreman Evolve Grill

When you think of the famous George Foreman I’m sure some of us probably immediately think about the boxer who has like a ton of kids all with his name and then the rest of us think of the indoor grill that bears his name.  I was a proud owner of the first generation George Foreman Grill and now I’m an extremely proud owner of the George Foreman Evolve Grill.

When I received the George Foreman Evolve Grill and took it out of the box, I could definitely tell it was much different than the original version. Right out of the box it was much more appealing to the eyes and with all the stainless steel appliances in many households it would match quite nicely. I’m not one for leaving bulky, unattractive appliances on the counter top, but I think this one would look just fine. Don’t you?

Since I’ve been trying to change our eating habits and prepare foods with less fat, the patented sloped design allows the fat and unwanted grease to drain away from the food as it is cooking. The adjustable angle lever changes the cooking surface for healthier grilling.

The other night I decided that I was going to make Turkey Burgers and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to use the new grill.  I like using Turkey for our burgers because it has a lower fat content than beef and watching the fat and grease drain away from the patties into the custom drip tray was even more reason for me to love my new grill.  As a mommy, it makes me feel good when I can give my children the food they love without it being incredibly bad for them.  I was impressed and grossed out all at the same time with all the fat and grease that ended up in the drip tray.

After cooking the Turkey patties I realized I didn’t have any hamburger buns, so I improvised and used biscuits and it actually tasted really good!

I’m incredibly happy with the George Foreman Evolve Grill. From the ease of use to the ease of cleanup, this little appliance is an all-around keeper!
