Being the mom of a little girl is one of the most rewarding experiences that I have ever had, but I also know how tough it is to be a girl. There are a lot of things that we experience as we grow up that we hope that our mothers will help us through.
If your are a mother of a tween, you need to run out and buy this book today. It dispels the myths that many of us grew up believing, such as, if you shave your legs, it will come in thicker and darker, this book helps us understand that this is not true, it will actually come in the same as it was growing before it was shaved.
Even if you are not the mother of a tween, and your daughter is younger, I think this is a good book to read, to learn about all kinds of things you can do with your daughter to bond. I used this opportunity to have some Mommy-Daughter time and do pedicures. I know that many times, I put things like this off, because it causes a mess, however, we had a great time. As you can see, I had my daughter take pictures, so this is her perspective. She even got to pick the colors.
Bonding Over Beauty has nine different chapters covering all types of topics: hair, skin, make-up, brows, hands, feet, unwanted hair, puberty, hygiene, nutrition, fitness, aromatherapy, and leaving home.
None of us want our little girls to grow up, however, the fact of the matter is, they will grow up quicker than we want. This is a perfect book to help you through those tough transitions in life.

My parents used to tell me that same thing about shaving my legs. I believed it for a while.
Maybe they didn’t know how to explain stubbly? Or just didn’t want an 11 year old shaving her legs? Either way, this sounds like a good book.

This is a really cute picture and it teaches mothers and daughters a lesson. That lesson is you are never to old to play dress up with each other rather putting on lip chap or doing a pedicure together.

Dear Jill,
I just read your review of my book and saw that beautiful picture of you and your daughter. It brought tears of joy to my eyes. My intent with Bonding Over Beauty was to help mothers strengthen that special relationship the old fashion way- by doing fun things together. You did just that. Those precious moments and adorable photos are like relationship dollars in the bank.
Thank you for that kind review and I wish you many great years of enjoying your sweet little girl.
My best,
Erika
