Chicken Salad Sandwich Taste-off + Giveaway (Closed)

I love food.  All food.  When given the opportunity to participate in a taste-off, you can bet that I’m ready to play!

This week, I participated in a Chicken Salad Sandwich Taste-off challenge and it was Arby’s Chicken Salad against Subway’s Chicken Salad.

Would you believe me if I told you I’ve never eaten Chicken Salad before? Well, it’s true!  This was my first taste of Chicken Salad and I can tell you — it won’t be my last.

Subway’s Orchard Chicken Salad Sub

I tried the Orchard Chicken Salad Sub on the Nine Grain Honey Oat Bread with just a little spinach and cheese.  I tried the Subway Sub first and I am happy to report that I liked it.  Like I mentioned, this was my first time trying any type of Chicken Salad and I really liked the sweet flavor of the apple.  However, I couldn’t taste the celery that was supposed to be in the Chicken Salad and the texture of the cranberries was mushy.

Arby’s Grilled Chicken and Pecan Salad Wrap

Already knowing what to expect, I was excited to try Arby’s Chicken Salad.  I chose to get the wrap because I didn’t want the heaviness of the bread and it was a great choice.  I was able to taste all the different flavors from the fresh grapes, crunchy apple, diced celery and pecans.  I was able to actually taste more of the ingredients without being overwhelmed with bread.  This would have been perfect if I could have ordered it without pecans.  The ingredients tasted fresh and I’ll definitely order it again.

I don’t think either won by a landslide but there was one that I prefer over the other.  There are pros and cons to both, as mentioned above, but I’m going to have to choose Arby’s as the winner — mainly because the ingredients tasted much fresher than Subway’s.

    Seriously my favorite is the Chicken Salad sandwich!! I tried it with the “buy a soda get the sandwich free” coupon a couple of days ago, and usually I NEVER go to Arby’s and I don’t like “regular” chicken salad, but this was GOOD! A friend and I shared it along with a Jamocha Oreo shake and it was all delish!

    While I like many of the sandwiches, I have a feeling that the chicken salad is going to jump to the top of my list real fast. Chicken salad is my very favorite lunch choice and I can’t find it too often especially at fast food places.
