Well, the house still hasn’t sold. At this point I’m just a little disappointed but I realize that not everyone wants to live way out in the country on two acres of land. As much as I love country living, I’m dying to be in the suburbs.
With all this house talk lately, I’ve been watching way more HGTV than usual. I turned the TV on the other night and started watching this show called Holmes on Homes. Have you seen it? After watching this show, I’ll never purchase a house without a Texas home warranty.
Basically, this show is all about people who have purchased homes, had them inspected, purchased them because the home got a good report from the inspector, and then come to find out there are many things wrong with the home — sometimes to the point the home is unlivable. Needless to say, it makes me extremely nervous about purchasing a new home.
After watching this show, I realize just how important home warranty insurance plans are and if/when we purchase a new home, we will definitely get one.

It’s just the opposite where I live. Everyone wants land out in the middle of nowhere.
Good luck : )

I love Holmes on Homes, it’s a Canadian show and they actually did a house in the city I used to live in and I recognized the neighborhood, that was fun!

We watch that show too and it’s AMAZING what people end up with, THINKING they are getting their dream house.

I’ve never seen that show before – sounds interesting. We’re on our third home and I’d definitely insist on a home warranty – it’s not very much money and a seller wouldn’t think it a deal breaker I wouldn’t think.

I live in the suburbs and would love to have a house with property. If only I could have both…. 🙂
