Ultimate Three Meat Au Gratin Potatoes

Being a busy mommy to three young children usually doesn’t leave me much time to spend in the kitchen. But that doesn’t mean that taste and creativity should have to suffer. I used the help of the grocery store to create this semi-homemade Ultimate Three Meat Au Gratin Potatoes recipe.

When I don’t have an elaborate amount of time to spend creating a gourmet meal, I love having the option of going to my pantry and using products that make mealtime a little easier on those busy nights.

I was given the task of coming up with a recipe using a package Betty Crocker Specialty Potatoes and I decided to use the Au Gratin Potatoes. They are my husbands favorite and I wanted to create an all-in-one meal and definitely think I accomplished that task.

This is most definitely a meat and potatoes type dish.

Ultimate Three Meat Au Gratin Potatoes

Yield: 8
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes Betty Crocker Au Gratin Potatoes
  • 1 cup canned No Salt Added Green Peas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 1/2 cup cocktail weenies, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cup ham, cubed
  • 1 cup bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup french fried onions, for topping
  • black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 450°F.
  2. In 2-quart casserole, mix, sauce mix, boiling water and butter. Stir in potatoes and place in oven. Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes.
  3. In a medium size skillet, cook cocktail weenies and ham until heated through. Drain off the juices.
  4. Add the heated cocktail weenies and ham with the potatoes. Stir in peas and bacon.
  5. Continue to cook for an addition 20-25 minutes or until it starts to brown on the top.
  6. Remove from oven and top with fresh ground black pepper and french fried onions.

Notes

I would not add in any salt. The potatoes are salty enough.

    I like the ingredients in your recipe and probably will give it a try but the cheesy potatoes sound pretty good too actually I make something similar to this recipe but I spice it up with some Jalapeno’s, my hubby eats Jalapeno’s on everything and he would love both recipes

    The Lemon Basil Pasta sounds good, especially for a vegetarian option. I like your recipe but I’d change the peas for green peppers, the cocktail sausages for breakfast patty sausage and leave in the bacon and leave out the ham. Yum.
