Alright y’all, I’m putting my foot down! It’s time to get my skinny back!
As many of you know, I gave birth as a surrogate mother less than five weeks ago. It was an incredible experience that I’m truly honored to have been a part of.
But, if you’ve ever been pregnant, you know that the baby weight just doesn’t go away once you give birth to that beautiful bundle of joy. In fact, for some of us, it actually takes a lot of work to get rid of it.
The first few weeks after I gave birth I didn’t do much of anything to allow my body to recover. After being cleared from my doctor, I decided it was time to prove to myself that although this was my fourth pregnancy that I could still kick the baby weight to the curb.
For the past two weeks I’ve been eating a healthier diet, watching my calories and kicking my own butt on the treadmill. I started C25K (Couch to 5K training program) and on the days I’m not training, I’m still spending time on the treadmill. I mean, who needs Jillian Michaels when you have the will and determination to do it all yourself, right?
During the pregnancy I gained a whopping 40 pounds. I was sure the baby weighed at least 20, but sadly he only weighed seven pounds.
After giving birth, I only lost 11 pounds. That meant I was left with 29 pounds from the pregnancy. I’m happy to report that at the time of writing this post, I only have 12 more pounds to lose until I’m at my pre-pregnancy weight.
Through a healthy diet and exercise, weight loss is possible. But, lets not kid ourselves. Sometimes it’s hard to eat healthy, especially with the stress of work, motherhood, busy schedules… At the end of a long day, it’s nice to be able to enjoy a nice treat every now and then.
Let me introduce you to my newest obsession, Skinny Cow Divine Filled Chocolate Candy! Talk about a divine intervention. These yummy little nuggets of goodness hit store shelves just in time! Being the chocoholic that I am, I can still enjoy a treat without sabotaging my success at getting this baby weight off.
The new Skinny Cow Dinine Filled Chocolates are available in Caramel and Peanut Butter Creme (my favorite). There are three pieces of candy in each pouch and each pouch is only 130 calories. And don’t think you have to sacrifice taste because the velvety milk chocolate simply melts in your mouth. Each pouch is just the perfect amount and easily satisfies my sweet tooth. These luscious little chocolate candies can be found in the candy aisle. Go get some. You know you want to!
