While Team USA is in Sochi, Russia competing for the GOLD, I decided to have a Olympics-inspired party here in Texas. I brought out the red, white and blue and went to work in the kitchen whipping up some fun, themed snacks for the kiddos.
This is a partnered post. As always, all opinions are my own.
There are so many ways to celebrate at an Olympics-inspired party! I’ve compiled some of my favorites from around the web to share with you!
Go for the Gold Olympic Party Favors // These are just too cute and really easy to make.
Printable Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony BINGO // I mean, because who doesn’t love a fun game of Bingo?
Winter Olympics Cupcakes // Um, yes please. I think edible faux snow calls from some coconut.
Olympic Medal Cookies // I just love these cookies, y’all. They’re almost too pretty to eat. Almost.
Olympic Rings Pizza // Because a party just isn’t a party without pizza!
DIY Olympic Rings // Such inexpensive party decor. It looks super simple to make, too!
Olympic Rings Rhinestone Tee // A perfect reason to use my Silhouette Cameo some more! Love this little tee.
Indoor Snowball Fight // Seeing as we never see snow in Texas, I love the idea of an indoor snowball fight!
Rice Krispies Olympic Torches
I’m all for using items you already have at home and I ALWAYS have a box (or three) of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies in the pantry. I decided to use a regular Rice Krispies Treats recipe to make these Rice Krispies Olympic Torches. With just a little bit of food color and waffle cones, you can make some, too!
To make these Rice Krispies Olympic Torch Treats, prepare a standard Rice Krispies Treat recipe. But instead of pressing the mixture firmly into a baking dish, you can use a spatula, spoon, buttered hands or whatever you have on hand to place irregular-shaped balls in a waffle cone.
The color will depend on how much food coloring you use. I used 10 drops red with 5 drops yellow and got what you see pictured above. This recipe will make about 12 torches, depending on how big you make the “flame.”
My children and their friends really enjoyed these Rice Krispies Olympic Torch Treats. Such a fun twist on one of their favorite treats.
How are you celebrating the Olympics?
