This is a partnered post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. I was able to experience grocery delivery with Shipt with a complimentary membership and shopping credit.
Let’s face it. Grocery shopping with children isn’t fun. I can think of many other ways I’d like to spend my time rather than going through the aisles of the grocery store with bored children. I recently learned about grocery delivery with Shipt and now I’m planning how I’m going to spend all my extra time.
Last week I was able to experience grocery delivery with Shipt for the first time and I’m totally sold on the idea and the service I received from my personal shopper, Jill.
Grocery Delivery with Shipt
Shipt started back in April of 2015 in Birmingham, Alabama and is a membership based grocery delivery service that is now available in 26 cities. Over the past year they have experienced tremendous growth and are looking to expand to even more cities in the near future.
The membership fee is either $14/per month or $99/per year. As a Shipt member, you receive free grocery delivery on every order over $35. All orders under $35 will incur a $7 delivery fee.
All Shipt personal shoppers undergo a background check. During my first order with Shipt, my personal shopper kept in contact with me with product replacements, timing, etc. When a product I ordered wasn’t available, we were able to keep in contact via text to find a replacement product.
You can place an order either through the Shipt app or via your desktop. I tried both ways and liked the desktop version better just because my screen was bigger. Both were easy to navigate and offered featured categories for easy shopping.
Adding products to your order is easy and you can specify exactly what product you want and how many you want. Note: make sure you check out the sale items. I was able to get those J.R. Watkins Orange Citrus Liquid Dish Soaps for $.59 each!
After adding all your items and any special notes for your personal shopper (I wanted the milk as far dated as possible), you will then be able to specify a delivery time frame. I opted for the 1-2pm delivery time and Jill arrived promptly at 1:04pm. She let me know when she was in the checkout and when she was in the driveway. She was great at communicating and keeping me up to date on my order.
Shipt partners with local grocery stores to provide you with quick and efficient service. In my area they have partnered with HEB. I didn’t notice any price increases shopping via Shipt but I did mostly shop the sale items. I’m not sure if that made a difference or not.
I know life is busy and finding time for grocery shopping can be difficult. I’m in love with the idea of minimal trips to the grocery store.

That looks like a great service! I used grocery delivery once or twice when I lived in a remote area and didn’t have a car and it was super useful!

I have been watching this service for a while. I live in a remote area and am unable to drive. They don’t deliver out here, yet – but I’m the list to be notified when they do.

There is grocery delivery services in my area as we have a growing elderly and duo working family population. I can see the benefit of it for those who don’t have the strength or time to do it themselves.
