With all the worthy causes to support this time of year, it can be hard to choose one to pledge your support to. There are so many organizations that do such great work with donated funds, the choice can get gut-wrenching. That’s why each year my family sits down and decides what cause is closest to our heart that year. In addition to donating, we also adopt a family from a local organization and buy presents for the children.
It’s one of those feel good experiences where we all just go all the way in and do what we can to support others around us who are less fortunate. Over the years it has taught me a great lesson in humility and has taught my children to be extremely grateful for what they have.
If you love giving back and supporting causes close to your heart like my family does, this year you can join forces with Aflac in the fight against childhood cancer. Aflac has passionately supported this fight for over 20 years and this year they are calling on us (that’s YOU!) to get involved this holiday season through their #Duckprints campaign.
Fight Against Childhood Cancer
You don’t need money. You don’t need presents. All you need to do is go to social media and use the #Duckprints hashtag. For any Duckprints-related social media activity including the hashtag, Aflac will donate $2 to the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare in Atlanta, in support of childhood cancer treatment and research, up to a whopping $1.5 million dollars!
And to help boost donations and awareness during this year’s holiday season, Aflac developed an online game, “Build Your Own Balloonicle,” where users can create their very own Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloonicle, featuring the beloved Aflac Duck. Every game experience that users share on social media with the #Duckprints hashtag will generate a $2 donation towards treatment and research for childhood cancer.
And new for this year, Aflac introduced Duckchat, an Aflac app where consumers can get custom Aflac Duck emojis and GIFs. The app can be downloaded on either the Apple iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store. Aflac will also donate $2 with each download of Duckchat.
As you can see, there are several ways you can join the fight against childhood cancer this holiday season without leaving your home or spending a dime.

As a Survivor, I fully support any cause that aims to support those living with cancer. I love that this is helping kids and their families.

That Alfac game sounds like a great way to get kids aware and involved about issues like these. I donate to my local Children’s Hospital every Christmas but I’m going to share this app with my little sister so she can being to learn about helping others this time of year.

This sounds so interesting! I never knew Aflac had anything out there like this.
I typically donate to St. Jude whenever I can to help fund Childhood cancer research.

Childhood cancer is a parents nightmare. Feeling powerless when it comes to your child is not something I’d ever wish on anyone.
Debra says
I love that anyone can help – even those without any extra money. Cancer has devastated my family and I can only imagine when it involves a child how difficult that is.

This is such a worthy cause. And a necessary one too. My daughter didn’t have cancer but she had many little friends at the Children’s Hospital when she was a patient for 5 weeks over Christmas when she was five years old. My heart broke for those littles and their families. I’m totally impressed with Aflac and off to make my own Balloonicle.

It is so hard to see children sick with disease like cancer. I love to see companies like this doing something to try to help.
Audrey McClelland says
I love this so much! It kills me when my kids get a cold or the flu, so I cannot even begin to imagine the horror of a child with cancer. I think much more needs to be done, and I’m glad Aflac is taking part on that front.

This is very moving. Every year, I read about families struggling to help their kids and others with cancer, so this is a very positive move. I will visit the site and help spread the word.
