We’re so excited about the new + exclusive HARRY POTTER™ and DRACO MALFOY™ QUIDDITCH™ Dolls from Walmart, that we decided to make our own DIY Wands to celebrate! Read this post to find out how easy these DIY Wands are.
Y’all! To say we’re excited about these Harry Potter Quidditch Dolls would be an understatement. As soon as they arrived, the kids couldn’t wait to tear open the packages and begin role playing.
But before we did that, we decided to make some homemade wands. With just a few supplies, you can easily recreate these DIY Wands at home.
DIY Wand Supplies
I love easy crafts and these homemade wands are definitely easy.
Since my husband uses chopsticks when we eat Chinese food at home, I just used some chopsticks that I already had on hand.
To make these easy DIY Wands, you’ll need:
- chopsticks
- hot glue gun
- hot glue sticks
- acrylic paints
- paint brushes
- sealer (like Mod Podge), optional

Gather all your supplies and prepare a hard, flat surface with newspaper or a piece of cardboard. I used a 24″ x 24″ tile that I use to take my photographs. The paint was easy to scrape off of it when I was done.
Using the hot glue gun, begin to apply the glue to the handle portion of the chopsticks. We didn’t want ours to resemble any of the characters’ wands so we just applied the glue however we wanted. If you want to make yours look like a certain character, feel free to Google the wand to get some inspiration.
Once you’ve applied the glue the way you want and it’s completely dry, start applying the paint. We used different hues of brown and added some metallic gold for accents.
Once the paint is dry, if wanted, you can seal it with Mod Podge or other paint sealer of choice.
Quidditch tryouts are coming up and you can join in on the fun with the brand new Harry and Draco Quidditch Dolls from Mattel. They are currently flying through the aisles at Walmart trying to catch that Golden Snitch and they want to come home with you!
All Harry Potter Quidditch Dolls come with their own robe and signature striped sweater along with molded protective gear. They’re fully stocked with the accessories to allow for imaginative play. The dolls have eleven joints – in the neck, shoulders, hips, knees, elbows and wrists to make play time more realistic. Add Harry and Draco to your cart here!
If your Harry Potter fans would love these Quidditch Dolls, you can pick them up on the toys/collectibles aisle at your local Walmart!
Don’t forget to pin this DIY Wand to your favorite Pinterest board.
