As a homeschool mom I know that reading is incredibly important to my children’s future. Because of this we’ve built a collection of books in our homeschool room. In this post I share some ways to build a homeschool library on the cheap.
Feeding Reading Program
We are entering our fifth year of homeschooling and we are absolutely loving the opportunity to grow and learn together. I believe that reading is essential but especially so in children. Being able to open up a book and read is not a privilege all children have, yet sometimes we take it for granted.
That’s why I love programs like the Feeding Reading Program. This program provides free Penguin Random House books to young readers. Programs like this encourage literacy and can help the community around you.
The Feeding Reading Program runs through September 30, 2019. When you purchase a participating Eggo product during the promotional window, you’ll be able to earn a free Penguin Random House book for your child or their school.
The goal of Buy 1 Eggo, get a FREE Penguin Random House book is to get more books into the hands of young readers to help build confidence. It’s also a great way to get the day off to a wonderful start with a Kellogg’s breakfast.
How to Redeem Your Free Book
Redeeming your free book is easy on FeedingReading.com.
- Purchase any participating Eggo products by September 30, 2019 and a take photo of your receipt(s) with any qualifying purchase.
- Log in to Kellogg’s Family Rewards® and upload the photo of you receipt. Please note: each receipt must be submitted separately and within 30 days of your purchase.
- Once you upload your receipt, you’ll get credit to redeem for a Penguin Random House book of your choice to keep or donate. This can take up to 72 hours to be reflected on your account.
- All book credits must be redeemed by December 1, 2019. There is a limit of 10 free books per participant. Please visit the Kellogg’s Family Rewards site for full promotional details.
Eggo Waffles
Having an easy on the go and portable breakfast option is perfect for those busy days when we snooze the alarm one too many times.
My children can put a couple Eggo Waffles into the toaster before we head out for a filling breakfast that is quick and easy to prepare.
Ways to Build a Homeschool Library on the Cheap
- Look in second hand stores: Shopping second hand is a great way to find books on the cheap.
- Buy Kellogg’s products: For every box of participating Eggo products you purchase through September 30, 2019, you earn a free Penguin Random House book (up to 10 free books).
- Check out yard sales: Yard sales are a great way to find books for your homeschool library on the cheap. I can usually find books for under a dollar.
- Check in local Facebook groups: I’m a member of many local homeschool groups and local buy/sell groups on Facebook. I like glancing through those to find books for our homeschool library. It’s easy to find sellers offering a ton of books for a very cheap price. I like buying the entire lot and then donating what we won’t use.
Reading books is a great way to wind down. I also think reading books is a fantastic way for children to engage and learn to use their imaginations. One of the best things you can do for your children is to encourage them to read. The Buy 1 Eggo, get a FREE Penguin Random House book promotions is a great place to start building your library at home.
