There is no denying that pretty much everyone in my immediate family has a sweet tooth. But, being the over-protective mom that I am, it isn’t often that they get to enjoy a nice sugary treat.
We were recently introduced to Tastykake when they sent us over a few of their fresh baked goodies. We received a Honey Bun, Strawberry Fruit & Yogurt Cookie Bars and the Cream Filled Koffee Kake Cupcakes. They arrived on the day I gave birth to little Zachary (my surrogate baby) so it was a few days before we tried them out.
I was a nice mom and shared the cupcakes and cookie bars, but I kept the Honey Bun all to myself. The kids really enjoyed these treats as did my husband and I. The cookie bars are soft and chewy and make for a nice snack. What I liked about them is that they weren’t overly sweet. The cupcakes were smaller than your normal cupcake but the cream filling definitely made up for it. They come two in pack so they are easy to share.
The Honey Bun is coated with a sweet glaze over the entire pastry to ensure each bite is equally delicious. Pair it with a nice cup of hot coffee and you’ve got a decadent treat!
Tastykake products are available throughout the East Coast and the Southeast. Hopefully they will expand to other parts of the country soon so that everyone can see why Tastykake got its name.
