Hot Dog Pizza

Alright y’all, week two of the H-E-B Meal Maker Challenge is here and the ingredient we had to create a recipe around was Hebrew National Franks! Now, I could have done some kind of normal hot dog, but since my children love pizza, I decided to create a pizza with hot dogs!

hot dog pizza recipeIn keeping with my quick and easy theme, this recipe only requires a few ingredients and doesn’t take long at all to make.  The whole family loved them and it will definitely be on my list to make again.

Hot Dog Pizza
Prep time

Total time
All the ingredients for a hot dog made into a pizza!
Recipe type: Main
Serves: 4
  • 1 can Turkey Chili
  • 1 package Hebrew National Franks {I used the 97% fat free kind}
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • ½ cup cheese of choice
  • mustard, to drizzle
  1. Cook Turkey Chili as instructed on the can.
  2. Place franks in a skillet on medium heat until heated through, about 5-7 minutes. Remember to rotate franks so they cook evenly.
  3. Heat oven to broil. Place hamburger buns flat side facing up onto a baking sheet. Broil until just lightly toasted on top.
  4. Slice franks in small pieces about ¼" to ½" thick.
  5. Place a tablespoon or two of turkey chili onto the toasted hamburger bun. Add sliced franks and more chili if desired. Drizzle with mustard and top with cheese.

That looks very good. How many calories were in it ?Have a great day.

It shouldn’t be too bad in calories. The franks only have 40 calories each and the turkey chili is 180 for a full cup. There is only about a tablespoon or two on the pizzas. I’d say the bread would contribute for the most calories.
